On October 14, 2025, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), in coordination with the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO), took action against cryptocurrency-enabled scam networks operating in Southeast Asia. The designation includes the Prince Group Transnational Criminal Organization (TCO) and its vast network of companies and individuals, including Chen Zhi, involved in cryptocurrency scams, mining operations, and money laundering. As part of the broader network, the U.K.’s Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) also sanctioned Byex Exchange, a cryptocurrency exchange platform with links to both Jin Bei Group Co. Ltd and Prince Group.

As part of the action, Huione Group, which was subject to a Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) on May 1, 2025, has now been designated under FinCEN’s Special Measures as a primary money laundering concern under Section 311 of the USA PATRIOT Act, officially severing the firm’s access to the U.S. financial system.

In addition, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has unsealed an indictment against Chen Zhi, also known as “Vincent,” the founder and chairman of Prince Holding Group (Prince Group). The DOJ also filed a historic $15 billion civil forfeiture complaint involving approximately 127,000 bitcoin linked to the fraudulent schemes.

US President Donald Trump will visit Malaysia on October 26, Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan said on Tuesday, adding that he was “looking forward” to witnessing a ceasefire deal between Southeast Asian neighbours Thailand and Cambodia.

Malaysia and the United States will facilitate the ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia, which will require both sides to remove all mines and heavy artillery from their borders, Mohamad said.

He said he hopes the agreement will be signed during the coming meeting of leaders from Asean set to take place in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur from October 26 to 28.

“During the summit, we hope to see the signing of a declaration known as the Kuala Lumpur Accord between these two neighbours to ensure peace and a lasting ceasefire,” Mohamad told the media.

CAIRO — United States President Donald Trump is set to receive Egypt’s highest state honour, the Order of the Nile, during his visit to the country to attend a Gaza peace summit, the presidential office said on Monday, reported German Press Agency (dpa).

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi will award the decoration in recognition of Trump’s “distinguished contributions to supporting peace efforts, defusing conflicts, and most recently, his pivotal role in ending the war in Gaza”.

The Order of the Nile is a gold collar made up of three square segments featuring pharaonic symbols.

It has previously been awarded to Nelson Mandela, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and most recently, Spain’s King Felipe VI.

Trump and al-Sissi are set to host a summit to consolidate the process to end the Gaza war in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh later on Monday. Nearly 20 world leaders are expected to attend.

Hamas said it has agreed to release all Israeli hostages, alive or dead, as long as “the field conditions for the exchange are met” and expressed willingness to negotiate through mediators on President Donald Trump’s plan for peace in the Middle East.

In its statement on Friday, Hamas said that the group “affirms its readiness to immediately enter into negotiations through the mediators to discuss the details of this agreement.”

“The movement also renews its agreement to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to a Palestinian body of independents (technocrats), based on Palestinian national consensus and Arab and Islamic support,” Hamas said.

Hamas was responding to a 20-point peace plan Trump outlined on Monday at the White House alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Trump and Netanyahu’s office both replied positively to the Hamas statement.

“Based on the Statement just issued by Hamas, I believe they are ready for a lasting PEACE. Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza, so that we can get the Hostages out safely and quickly! Right now, it’s far too dangerous to do that,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “We are already in discussions on details to be worked out. This is not about Gaza alone, this is about long sought PEACE in the Middle East.”

In a video address posted later on Truth Social, Trump added, “This is a big day. We’ll see how it all turns out. We have to get the final word down in concrete.”

PETALING JAYA: Social media influencer “Lim Sian See” is looking forward to being grilled by economy minister Rafizi Ramli when he appears on the latter’s podcast in two months’ time.

When contacted, “Lim” said Rafizi’s camp had reached out to him last week to set an appointment.

While no specific date was set, it would be in early August, “Lim” said.

“This time I made sure they were specific about me appearing this year,” he said, alluding to remarks by his followers, made in jest, about him being invited to the podcast only after Ramadan next year.

On Feb 19, Rafizi had said he wanted to invite “Lim”, Umno Supreme Council member Puad Zarkashi and former Umno Supreme Council member Isham Jalil to his podcast as he was keen to hear their ideas on revitalising the economy.

Rafizi also said he wanted to “unveil the person behind the persona who was in charge of the campaign defending 1MDB”, the scandal-plagued state investment arm.

On March 5, however, Rafizi told “Lim” to wait until after Ramadan to arrange for an appearance on his podcast, after “Lim” said he was still waiting for Rafizi’s camp to get in touch with him about the matter and questioned the delay.

Rafizi had then said he had been on medical leave until March 1 following a spinal operation two weeks earlier, and that he had a lot to catch up on.

On April 17, “Lim” reminded Rafizi of the invitation.

Today, “Lim” said he hoped there would be no more delays.

“I have got a lot to ask and I hope we can clear the air,” he said, stressing that he was not out to pick a fight with Rafizi.

Today I lost my three year old sports shoes, with a pair of stinky socks and kneepads stolen by some random M40.

Of all places, it was left in a private club locker room where 80% M40 - T20 type c hangout.

I just don't get our Malaysian culture. We will never be like Dubai or other developed country where people don't simply take others belongings, moreso a pair of used sports shoes of all items.

I hope you burn in hell wearing my stinky socks and shoes.

PETALING JAYA: A man armed with an axe slashed a security guard in the head, locked him up in a toilet and made off with 70 iPhones from a commercial complex next to the leaning tower of Teluk Intan, Perak, early today.

Hilir Perak police said the thief broke into the phone shop at Kompleks Menara Condong Teluk Intan and stole the iPhones, worth an estimated RM300,000.
