Choosing monitor+graphic card

Hi all. First let me start off with my current setup.

Cpu: e6600 core 2 duo conroe (2.4ghz)
Ram: 4gb kingston ddr2 800mhz
Power supply: 500w cooler master
Graphic: built-in graphic
Mobo: gigabyte g31m-es2l
Hdd: samsung 500gb

Just for your information, the power supply and also the mobo i just bought it few months ago coz lightning fried both of them (luckily the cpu survived.) I bought the power supply in 500w coz i intend to upgrade the graphic card in future. Previously the computer was intended for light work such as surfing, typing, watching movies and etc. Now i have budget below rm1k to upgrade my monitor (now using old crt 17in) and also the graphic card.

My questions are:
1. Any recommendation for a good graphic card + monitor for gaming purpose? the monitor i would like to have at least 20in. graphic card should be powerful enough for latest gaming in good high setting (if possible) (must be below rm1k for both of them)
2. Im afraid my processor is quite ancient (still uses lga775). Will my current cpu bottleneck the performance with the upcoming graphic card? Right now im eyeing for sapphire hd6850/ palit gtx560 (non ti). Will it be overkill to have such cards?
3. I also intend to upgrade the processor, but since i've just bought a new mobo, it would be redundant to buy a new procssor such as i3 (as it requires different pin, hence need to get new mobo for that). My question is, is it worth to upgrade the processor to the newer pentium e6600 wolfdale (3.06ghz) for a better gaming experience? FYI, this processor upgrade is not included in the rm1k budget i mentioned earlier. I just need opinion upon it. If its not worth it, i might left it alone.

I intend to play games such as dirt3, crysis and battlefield btw. Thanks all for your input and suggestions. Really appreciate them.
