[WTA] Help on my brother's rig

Hey guys,

My brother is planning to upgrade his graphics card to 280x or 290x for battlefield 4.

His current specs of his rig as follows :

MOBO : MSI 770-C35
CPU : AMD Phenom X6 1090T BE
GPU : Sapphire HD6950
PSU : Silverstone Strider Gold 750W
RAM : 8GB Kingston Value RAM
HDD : 1TB (Cant remember)
Monitor : Dell U2310 1080p display

1. May i know whether the GPU that he is going to upgrade will be bottleneck by the CPU ?

2. There are 2 options in mind if the CPU cause the bottlenecking,

Option A : Change his motherboard so that he can overclocks his current CPU, if this is the best option then what
is the suitable motherboard for him so he can overclock ?

Option B : Change motherboard and processor ( He can sell his processor and graphics card via garage sales an
top up for a new board and processor.) If this is the best option please recommend best bang for buck
for board and cpu as long there is no bottlenecking? Mainly gaming.

Hey sifus,

Well im thinking whether i should upgrade my pc or not , is this the best time to upgrade ? my specs is according to my siggy ,

there are some choices that im considering that is :

A. SSD

B. Watercooling kit.

C. Save money

Budget is <RM800

Any other recommendation which is better than above choices ? ?

I don really know much about watercooling and my knowledge of overclocking is very basic.

Is it the best time to get SSD ?

Hi guys,

i have a budget of rm1300 and i donno what is worth to upgrade.

its either .

1.SSD
2.Speakers + soundcard
3.Keyboard

pls advice what other besides what is mentioned above.

oh yea, i kinda have a old speaker but still running fine which is the HK395.

Doesnt mean have to spend all the budget i have. Just want to get whats worth getting. Pls refer to my siggie too !

Hey guys.

I just want to know that does any PSU have no ripple and noise ?

ive read reviews and they're saying that ripple and noise is very low etc but i havent see any reviews saying no ripple and noise.

im running seasonic x850 and gtx 560 twin frozr and it has a very soft noise whine while playing which comes from the PSU itself.

So this ripple and noise thingy common and normal ?

i just got my GTX 560 Twin Frozr today and i experience some whining noise during load from the gpu itself .

is this because of the capacitors/inductors ?

Hey guys .

i was playing Assasin Creed II then it crashed.

It has alot of artifacts after restarting and i donno how to solve this.

what i did was i remove graphics drivers also still have artifacts.

now im using my HD2000 series for temporary use.

any idea guys ?

[WTA] Pls suggest me a gaming rig

Hi guys im planning to get a rig either this month or next month. Pls suggest me a system as follows :-

- budget of rm3.5k to rm3.8k

- CFX/SLI ready

- Quality PSU(thinking of seasonic x750/x850)

- wants a sandy bridge CPU (confused whether to get i5 2600k or a i7 2600k <= which is more worth ?)

- has some room for expansion (thinking of adding another graphics card when i have budget)

- likes to play games with max settings (1920x1080 resolution)

- don include monitor or other peripherals ( just the system)

- willing to wait for official launch of sandy bridge CPU.

Since im from kuching will go and buy the rig when i go to kl for holiday since quality parts here are expensive also difficult to find.
