My iPad 3 front glass is broken (shattered actually). But my display lcd works perfectly.

How much is a reasonable price to replace it? Someone quoting me RM280.

Also, is there such thing as original replacement etc?

Thanks.

Need help building new PC

Needs:
- I run very heavy CPU using work processes, so i guess i need i7 with top speed
- I want incredible startup speed, completely lag free computer
- I run custom codes that use 4-6GB memory dedicated to itself, so i need more, and I want the fastest memory possible
- I want the fastest SSD possible, those PCI-e based, and if need to raid smaller disks for speed, so be it.
- I will install Windows
- I am not sure what kinda details I am missing, like buffers, architectures, caches, bus etc. So i need someone to guide me
- I need a motherboard that can help me attain the above, and giant size is ok as long as expandable.

Necessities:
- Graphics: i need to support Ultra HD 3840 x 2160 (dell 32inch), but I don't need performance. Any graphic card that can support is sufficient for now.
- Casing: it can be looking like a brick, I don't mind
- Power: sufficient to run, dont need to overkill. Later in future can change if i get better addons.
- Cooling: Don't mind if there are 10 fans sounding like hurricane. As long as heating is never a problem ever.

When I am working with data processing (custom coded applications), inside windows, I will also be running virtual linux in parallel, and I don't want any lag at all. Currently I have an awesome laptop i7 3.33ghz, 8gb and 64gbX4-SSD-raid, and I use the max out of it. A good hearted forumer helped me to get it last time. Its now old and struggling with heat. But still, I never see any other computer with faster boot or performance than mine yet (at least among the my IT friends). So, next i need a desktop that is better than this. I really cannot tahan to work on PCs or laptops slower than my current one.

Budget: I really don't now - 5k+ for tower only? Please advise.

If you are willing to guide me, and let me work along you to fix everything by hand, then I will pay you for your service, also I need someone who can advise me on high performance hardware. I can probably share about high performance software to you.

Please reply if you are interested

The best setup at USD888 for computing

Dear Gurus of Hardwares,

I have been tasked to build a upgradable desktop tower (only tower without displays and accessories), for sole purpose of computing for my R&D job.

I know I can go bonkers with double graphic cards and extreme editions of everything, but the budget is limited for phase one.

So Phase 1:
- compatible latest motherboard
- i7 with humble price (no need max Ghz/cores)
- 16GB ram with good speed
- 128 GB SSD with good speed
- And the headache - nvidia GPU, the best that can fit the price, must be expandable to dual configuration in future.
- casing/power/cooling etc - go for minimum possible, as I will not overclock.

I tried looking at lowyat price list etc, and my head is spinning.

Please help all the enlighten ones. What mb+cpu+gpu will you go for at USD 888 / MYR 3000.
You can give me pointers and I will go research more based on your advise.

Thanks.
