Optimal Pc Setup

Dear Guys,

I need your opinion on this. I wish to setup new desktop just for movies, play music, minor music recording, mp3 tagging/photo editing and a pc that can stay 24/7 and absolutely no games. I'm more concern on the what is the optimal processor, GPU, RAM and cooling system/chassis. If it you could suggest some of the hardware that's good for budget that would be an advantage to me.

Hi,
Is anyone out there ever use idfx for itunes (mp3 enhancer)?
I'm facing with this problem which cause my mp3 files sound to distorted even with flat EQ on my ipod.
How do i restore the mp3 to it's original/normal state?
Please advise.

Surround sound from TV

Dear Guys,

Is it possible to setup surround sound from tv when it's connected to the external speakers?
My current setup now is a Altec Lansing 4.1 speaker connected to Samsung LED TV, the only sound i got now is only from 2 front speaker.

Dear guys,

Need ur opinionon this.
Today i saw two brand of HD Media player, one is WD Media Live and Asus O! Play HD Media Player.
Which one is better?
Or is there any other products out there?
Also is there any products come with internal storage?
My intention is just to play mkv files, not necessary to have lan or wifi features.
I'm currently in Penang, maybe u can also point out where i may get it.

screen goes blank after login into windows

guys...
i'm not quite my problem is hardware or software...
what i'm facing now is my screen will goes blank after few minutes i login into window...
i've switched monitor... switched gpu... switch hdd... switch os...
none of the above works until i renew my anti-virus license key...
today it happens again after i've restarted my pc due to no sound came out from my speaker...
your advise on this issue is much appreciated...

Please help me to choose which processor shall i pick for best gaming performance...
I'm quite confuse with this i5 and i7 or is there any other i?
If asking about budget, i'm willing to spend around 500 to 1k.
How long do you think core 2 quad processor can't last before they become obsolete?
On top of that, is there any chances that nvidia gpu 2++ series will drop in term of price?
I'm looking forward to purchase it but the GTX295 price is still expensive or is there any other model that can perform well with current games and the price is quite reasonable (still prefer Nvidia).
Im currently using Gigabyte 9800 GTX+ in sli mode (is this gpu still able to withstand with the current games?)

Hi fellas,

I'm having little problem here.
I'm currently using Creative Gigaworks G550w THX with Creative Xtreme Gamer sound card.

My problem is:-
1. The speaker will turn off by itself after 45-60 minutes of using it.
2. The wireless rear speaker does not produce sound (only hissing) even after several try and error (i.e. switching speaker with front, software config & etc)

What i'm thinking right now either to get it fix or purchase Logitech Z5500 but if i could get it repair at least i can save my pocket (can meh?)

Can anyone provide the location and contact for creative service outlet in Malaysia.

Which one of the manufacturer is good in terms of after sales sercive. Is it Creative or Logitech?

Last but not least, is there any major diff between 4.1 speaker and 5.1 speaker in terms of playing games, watch movie and etc. Can we really feel the diff? And also what about THX speaker and non THX speaker, does all latest games and movies support it?

Please share or experience and opinion.

I would appreciate if you could help me on this.
