Dell AC Adapter Error

Hello all.

I have this 7 years old Dell Vostro 3500. Two weeks ago my original AC adapter went kaput and i bought a replacement adapter from Lazada. So, the replacement adapter has the same watt and ampere as the original one which is 90W and 4.62A output.

My problem is when i connect the replacement adapter i get this message at startup"The AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined. The battery may not charge. The System will adjust the performance to match the power available."

I notice my laptop become sluggish in terms of performance even after a clean installation and the battery does not charge at all.

So, does anyone know if it is the replacement adapter problem? or the laptop itself?

Refer attachments to compare the original and replacement adapter...

Normal temperature for Laptop GPU

Hey guys, so my Dell 3500 has been shutting down quite often whenever i play movies, watching videos on youtube. So, i decided to install speed fan and the GPU temp showed me the highest temp the GPU reached was about 85C. This occurs even when i'm just browsing the web.

So, just wondering whether this temperature is normal for a laptop? I even use a dual-fan cooler underneath the laptop.

Though i think it may be too high for a normal task. What do you think? Should I call Dell to replace any parts? Or should i just clean the hardware by myself? This laptop is still under warranty and I'm afraid to take off most of the parts and the guide says i need to disassemble almost half of the hardware just to get to the heatsink lol.

Just want to add that i just did a clean installation and the shutting down continues to happen...

Hi, I'm just wondering is there any wireless Router with built-in Modem that can control the bandwidth? Be it by IP Address, or by quota placement, or even by MAC address filtering.

If there is, can you recommend me the model?

Thanks in advance.

Error 2000-0142

So my 5 months 320GB HDD in my Vostro 3500 suddenly gave me "Error 2000-0142" message while in diagnostics which can only mean it's dying. I dont know what was the cause but i've called Dell and they will send their technician to replace my HDD next week. The agent told me i need to make my own backup.

The only question is, my HDD runs very slow. I need to back up about 100GB of data and i know since it's so slow than normal, this is going to take forever. Do any of you guys know to speed up the HDD again? I need to backup my data as soon as possible.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Dell Live Chat.

I can't get connected to any Sales Agent since Friday. I tried like the whole day and always unavailable. I'm trying now, and the same result appeared.

Does anyone having the same problem as I am?

I cleared my cache and cookies a few times, same result. Also, I prefer chatting than calling because it's easier for me to browse and ask around at the same time.

Dell outlet or Retailer.

Hi, first of all, i'm not sure if this is the right section but if it's not please move this topic to the appropriate section.

I am considering of buying either Dell Vostro 3400 or 3500 since both laptops currently fill my needs.

My question is, Can I customize the laptop if i were to buy it on Dell outlet/retailer which of course paying by cash?

If could tell me which location the outlet would be, that would be great. Preferably in Low Yat Plaza.

Also, please provide the best shop you've ever been when you bought Dell products.

Thanks.

Vertical line across laptop LCD

Hi, so i have this line across the display screen and i can't seem to figure out why. This started like last week and i have been using this Dell Vostro 1520 for about 4 months.

The only solution, for now, is to get rid of it by just flexing the laptop lid front and back. But sometimes it doesn't go away.

I'm just wondering, could this be due to wiring problem or the LCD itself is starting to die?

Please help.
