Heart of the Swarm Balance Update – May 13, 2013

A little over a week ago, we requested your help in testing a few proposed balance tweaks for StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm by playing with each change on our new Balance Test Map. After reviewing your thoughts, gathering pro player feedback, examining ladder stats, and watching lots of tournament matches, we're ready to move forward with a balance update.

Today, we’ll be implementing the following balance change for StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm multiplayer:

Zerg

Spore Crawler damage increased from 15 + 15 vs. biological to 15 + 30 vs. biological
If you'd like to read more on the reasoning behind this change, feel free to check out David Kim's recent forum post, in which he provided his team's thoughts on StarCraft II balance after reviewing test map results and feedback.

As always, thank you for play testing the changes we proposed with the most recent Balance Test Map. The extensive testing and quality of feedback you've provided have allowed us to make this call, and we look forward to sharing more of our thoughts on StarCraft II balance with you in the future.

I feel it helps only to buy time to get something else out that will be used to fight mass mutas. Infestor Fungal aim and prediction is gonna need some training heh.

Vengeance Cup

Blizzard and Asiasoft have put together a series of tournaments dedicated for SEA in the form of the Vengeance Cup!

Each country of Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand will be duking out in a series of qualifiers before moving on to the Grand Finals where the best of three nations will duke it out to be the champion! During the qualifiers, participants can already start winning prizes within these qualifiers or through the Star Jeweled side event that will be organized in the side. Prize money climbs up to RM3,900 and that doesn't include the qualifiers! Details about the qualifiers and the side event are below.

College / University Intra Gaming Network

Hi, I am currently working on a personal note of doing this.

Project Proposal: College / University Intra Gaming Network

Aims
- Unite Gaming Clubs in Malaysia to participate and organize events.
- Allows Collaboration and make large scale events possible and easier

Current Methodology
1) Acquire contacts from other colleges and university
2) Ascertain presence of gaming clubs
3) Contact the President, Vice president etc of gaming club
4) Create a contact network and distribute referrals within participating members.
5) Facebook page, yeah!!

Currently: I have MMU and UCSI agreeing to this. SEGI and APU are in the works.

What I need from this community is information from those who can contribute.
-Which University / College has a gaming club?
-Do you know anyone that I can contact (Facebook, Email etc) to contact the President?

The list of universities is quite long and I have no measure to ascertain the presence of such clubs without information from someone in there. Thus, this is why I need your help.

This project has Zero costs, zero liabilities. Some help will be graciously accepted, thank you.

Problem in Recreating map

Hi everyone, it's my first time around here and I have a problem.

I am currently attempting to redraw a map into a clearer larger version of itself

I can replicate most elements within the map except for the roads. They're being really annoying and I'm not really good in using Macromedia Fireworks 8 (I suck more in Photoshop =( )

This is the map i'm attempting to redraw at about 1600 x 1400 pixels ( Can't recall exact but I got it constrained)

So far I've tried 2 ways, through vector and bitmap.

Problem with vector is I can't remove bits of it off and it'd be pieces overlapping one another whenever i just want to make a turn

Using bitmap, I can't get it straight (I'm using a mouse and I don't have a tablet) and I also cannot show elevation like a highway above a road.

So I'm now stuck without any suitable ideas to try. Please help! Thank you.
