Is there anyone use a 3rd party timer on aircon before? The reason of using a timer is to control aircon usage (room is rented to tenant).

What is your timer brand or is there any other way to control the usage other than having a separate electricity meter?

Recommended workshop - Kean Lee Hin

I just came back from Kean Lee Hin[nestum's(Kent) workshop @ Jalan Ipoh]. My comment is excellent and 100% satisfaction! All the 'kak kak kak kak' sound from my front left and the 'tuk tuk' sound from my front right were fixed with a super duper cheap labor cost!

At 1st i thought it's the 'car leg' problem so i've ready to spent quite a mount of $ this time. But when Ah Mun(one of the chinese foreman in his workshop) check out for me, it's the unbalance of the front left break pad that cost the 'kak kak kak' sound. So he milled the brake pad until it is balance and test drive. And i 'wow', thats the problem! I really salute him.

Then come to my front right 'tuk tuk' sound problem. B4 this a foreman told me is tie rod problem. Then when Ah Mun checked for me, he found that my engine mounting is very very loose until it gona falls off. Then i'm shocked. How come my previous workshop can be so careless Under his skillful hands, all the problems gone!

Now my ride is so steady and no sounds from the 'car leg' now. Great job from nestum's workshop and his foreman Ah Mun. Also thanks Kent for his patient in explanning/sharing some car knowledge with me. I couldn't stop myself to send my car for them if there are any problems again.

This is a real recommended workshop and tayar shop. I saw he's selling alot of rims and tayars

Hong Leong Bank - WORST service

Below is my VERY VERY VERY BAD experience towards Hong Leong Bank CC application processes.

I applied leave on 7th of March purposely in order to go to Hong Leong Bank to apply for credit card - Essential CC. A young guy served me on that day. During the process of filling up the cc application form, that guy dont know how to spell some english terms such as "commerce" & "engineer" so i told him the spellings he checked my pay slips and i'm eligible/meet the requirement of salary 30k per annum, so i submitted related documents(photocopy of IC, pay slips) to the guy. That guy told me to call the customer service if i didn't receive any news on the application.

Then i want to apply for a CDS account and another lady gave me the aplication form. After I have filled in the form and submit to her, she told me that NO REMISIER/AGENT in that branch and i STILL HAVE TO GO TO HLE main office at jalan ipoh. so i didn't apply the CDS account at Hong Leong since it is so TROUBLESOME

After 2 weeks plus, I still haven get any news from Hong Leong then i call the customer service. Then the person in charge checked on my status and told me that my DOCUMENT IS INCOMPLETE. Then i'm wondering how come Hong Leong didn't inform me about that. Is is I HAVE TO CALL only then they will tell me why my application is pending Then only there come a person called me and asked me to fax my IC, driving license to her. So i faxed to her. After a few days NO NEWS AGAIN Then i called this person to ask for the status and she promised to find out whats the problem. Then she said my fax copy is NOT CLEAR ENOUGH and asked me to fax to her again so i faxed ANOTHER TIME to her. Then NO NEWS AGAIN and i called her again and she asked me to send soft copy to her. So i sent to her. After a few days she smsed me told me the application is approved, do i want to proceed. Of course i told her to proceed. The whole process is sooooo troublesome!!!

Then i've decided to apply for Maybank Card 2. The person who serve me is so nice and I RECEIVED THE MAYBANK CARD 2 WIHOUT ANY HASSLE on the 1st day of the 3rd week from the day i applied. MAYBANK IS SO FAST & EFFICIENT

By the end of April, i received a letter from Hong Leong saying that my application was rejected as they required additional information/docment BUT the date of this letter is 11th of April. So i'm wondering shd i follow this letter that said i'm rejected or shd i follow what she said that ask me to proceed.

Today, 5th of May (which is almost 2 months) i received the CC from Hong Leong. When i opened the envelop, i found that Hong Leong did not give me the card i applied(Essential Card), Hong Leong gave me a CLASSIC Card. WHAT IS THIS !!! AFTER TONS OF HASSLE AND THEY GAVE ME THE WONG CARD !!! Then i called the customer service immedieatly and ask about this. Then the person in charge told me that "Essential card is same category with Gold card. While for the classic card, the annual income is ONLY 18k." -- she had some kind of meaning that i cant meet the requirement thats y i get Classic card Then i told her i know that Essential card requires 30k salary per annum and i meet the requirement, then she ask me to wait(she is going to ask some1 bout that). Then do u know how she answer me? she said "THE APRROVAL IS BASED ON THE MANAGEMENT DECISION ". i'm eligible to apply for the card and now she told me THIS KIND OF ANSWER !!! Then i suggest Hong Leong to include a note there stated "IT IS SUBJECT TO MANAGEMENT DECISION ALTHOUGH YOU MEET THE REQUIREMENT" WHAT KIND OF EXCUSE IS THIS. GIVING THE WRONG CARD THEN SIMPLY FIND AN EXCUSE TO COVER UP THE FAULT

Besides, if Hong Leong feels that i dont meet the requirement, why they approved my application and ask me whether want to proceed. Actualy they can reject me directly and eliminate all the hassle.

My friend bought a WD500GB external hdd on 6/12/09(sunday) from the pc fair. After a few days the hdd has problem. So my friend brought it back to the shop in lowyat on 11/12/09(friday) which is within 7 days.

Therefore, according to the rule, the shop should give gurantee that 1 to 1 direct change. BUT do u know wat the technical staff from that shop told my friend? he said:"those things u bought from pc fair is different from buying from the shop, so we cannot change 1 to 1 for u. u can only take it for warranty."

In my mind i think "wow, WHAT IS THIS? THE HDD BOUGHT FROM UR SHOP'S BOOTH IN PC FAIR AND NOW CANNOT TAKE BACK TO UR SHOP TO CHANGE 1 TO 1 WITHIN 7 DAY? WAT IS those things u bought from pc fair is different from buying from the shop. WHAT RULE IS THIS?"

Anyone has any point of view? or isit the rule is LEGAL? or SUCH RULE is EXIST?

External HDD n it's casing

May i ask does the external hdd casing important?

Here is my problem:

I bought an WD 3.5" 500GB SATA II hdd and a middle price range casing (rm65 Cliptec, some cheap casing is around rm30 n some expensive is rm150+)...after i use for a few days, the hdd seems to have problem such as not detected by the pc or the files (rmvb files) are unreadable...i have to unplug n plug in again to make it works. Besides, i have 3 partitions on the hdd but sometimes it is able to detect 1 of them only...

The casing has a power adapter so i tink power will not be a problem. So will it be possible that the casing is too cheap and the material used inside the case to connect to the hdd is not good?
