RBE is a better alternative to monetary system

RBE - Resource Based Economy; when specified in this thread, to represent the zeitgeist idea, of a world where resouces are managed, instead of money.

In theory, money causes alot of problems, and this can be solved with an RBE system.

This thread branched from http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f=153&t=1781776
How the economy is build

A question regarding economy... Someone once said, that as long as the country provide jobs for it's citizens, even if it were something unproductive like, digging holes, than filling them back up again, it will help the economy.

What do you think about it?

Chaotic Graphics

Hi guys,

I know after you've heard the age of my PC you'd probably ask me to buy a new one

But just wondering... maybe someone might know what's wrong with it in the first place.

I'm running on WinXP SP3, and have been using my PC for 3 years now.

I have found that some 3D intensive games I play will have weird skin drawings and weird shapes drawn (eg. there will be a multi prong star drawn together with the existing polygon) and eventually my system crashes.

It started to become worst, and some games which were originally ok, now begin to appear this bizarre effects.

I had thought that it might be a software issue, as I am still able to view normal graphics. Heat doesn't seem to affect the computer. But after the effects occur, I will need to restart the PC, in order to clear up the graphics in the game.

Maybe a virus, or problem with my directX. I had reformatted my PC, and still the same problem.

What do you guys think is happening here?

Will add in the detailed specs later. Maybe a pic too.

Physics Q, does velocity stack?

Here is a Q that I can't wrap my brain around.

1. If you are on top of a train, running from back to front, does that mean that you're going faster than the train?

2. If you were to jump off the train after the initial run, will your distance be farther than if you jumped without running?

3. If you dropped a rock from the train to hit an oncoming signboard. will the impact be the same as if you were to throw that same rock at that sign board (while on that train)?

Explanation and links appreciated.

Déjà vu

Dejavu, I’ve come to realise on my own that they are simply a state of mind which are similar to that which we had felt before, and not that the event has occurred before. This could be triggered by similar events or themes that we observe, and anomaly of hormones concoctions released by our body.

The problem usually is we forget those exact moments that we are retrieving from memory, I have had a glimpse, or a notion of what they were, and they are not the same as what is happening at present, it only feels the same. Like a dream which we forget when we wake, only the feelings which remain.

The feeling of familiarity, without memory to equate it to, makes us think that what’s happening right now, may have already happen.

Your thoughts please.
Who girls end up with...

I just realised something, see what you guys think about it.

Generally speaking....

Girls, want guys who adore them.

Girls find guys who unexpectedly approach them, and show their interests as being creepy.

Thus, guys will keep failing in love for the wrong girls, until they find someone, whom, they don't get head over hills at first sight for. They settle for girls whom, they have luke warm feelings for, and after giving it some thought, "hey why not? Let's not be choosy."

The girls on the other hand, starts wondering, why the boyfriends they have selected, are a little uninterested in them.

I guess, it is possible that both parties might like each other very much.... but girls will never get that guy who is really head over hills, and willing to do simply anything for her. Because she will find that guy, too needy and creepy.

I came to this realisation, when my GF, told me, of her experience, with someone whom I consider as a decent guy.... then I remembered my own experiences and failure at getting the girl that I like.

2 cents anyone?

And it's tragic that there probably many single people out there who have the same problem.

So, we came to the idea of opening ourselves up to new possibilities, and extend our activities with new friends.

We believe that through activities can we get to know each other better, rather than through awkward blind dates.

We are highly selective of our members, and will make sure people are who they claim to be.

We hope to gain more friends, through friends.

Details:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Places we have been so far: Mersing (R&R by the beach), Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Tioman, Kuantan (road trip), Gunung Ledang (camping), Gunung Dato (Hiking), Afamosa Waterworld, Port Dickson (BBQ), Alor Gajah HotSprings, etc.

Upcoming: Desaru, Bali

Future plans: Taiping, Sungkai Hot Spring

members so far: 5-6 people give or take.

Special thanks to LYN for providing this forum.
