I was without Internet for 24 hours thanks to TM Net Streamyx and decided to terminate its service since TM Net's helpdesk insisted that there was nothing wrong with their line and that it was either my laptop/modem/router that is at fault. I subscribed to Maxis broadband attempting to take advantage of their 7 Day guarantee.

But in the mean time, I'd like to hear recommendations from LYN-ians as to what Internet package I could subscribe to. I could use these few working days for TM Net to come to my house and fix my line although the past episode has pissed me off boundlessly or I could switch from Maxis to either Digi or WiMAX.

I am living in Cheras so information on the coverage in my area is extremely important. =)

Digi is offering 10GB for RM 98 monthly while P1 is offering 20GB for RM 99. However, the website tells me that this P1 modem is a desktop modem meaning that there will be wires involved even though I'm using a desktop. Just out of curiosity, what is the connection for the modem like? Is it:

Modem -> Electricity
Modem -> Laptop

Or will I still need telephone line because the reason why I am opting to use another ISP was because I did not want a telephone line since it was giving me ample trouble. How does P1 wired compare with TM wired?

Last but not least, does Digi or P1 offer 7 day refunds the same way Maxis does?

If my basic math is correct, 20000 MB/31 days = 645 MB. I'll be extremely happy with P1's offer but I'm hoping for feedback.

And if I were to switch back to TM Net, what do I need to do to request for them to check my house because I am certain that there is nothing wrong with my modem/router/laptop/splitter (all new!) since I can connect effortlessly at public locations or connect to Maxis broadband. Also it takes about 10 minutes for the light to become stable.

Did anyone go to Mid Valley today? I'd like some feedback from people who went there today who went there today. What did you all think?

I am very disappointed in the event and I'll post a longer more detailed post about it later but in the meantime, any feedback?

Some of my complains on the event:

Regarding the ‘rules’ of the picture-taking process with the World Cup trophy. While we were told explicitly that we were not allowed to take our own photographs with the trophy, why were we not told in a similar fashion that we were not allowed to touch the glass case containing the trophy (emphasis on glass case). I feel sorry for the two elderly man in front of me who were walking with the aid of canes being shouted at rudely by your representative for having their arms gently touching the trophy case. Considering that there were a few others were screamed at and humiliated for similar reasons, I feel that this could have been avoided if you put up these instructions in writing.

The time we were allowed to spend with the World Cup trophy and have our picture taken with the trophy. THREE SECONDS. That is all that was given to us. This is by far, the biggest let down of the entire event. If I had been told that this were the case beforehand, I would not have bothered attending this event and I am sure many others too would have stayed at home. I understand the various reasons why you would not want us to take pictures with/of the trophy using our own cameras but why were we only allowed three seconds? I am sorry but I feel cheated that the event publicized that we could SEE the trophy in front of us with our very own eyes when all we were actually allowed was to have one lousy picture taken with the trophy within three seconds without being able to have a proper look at the trophy.

Those aren't my only complains but I would think people would complain TL; DR if I posted everything, thus I didn't add it.

Are there movies that you ignore or don't acknowledge when you refer to certain movies. I think this applies to mostly sequels but it's not limited to sequels.

Example, when I watch the Godfather, I watch Godfather and Godfather II but I do not regard III as part of the Godfather series. Also, Star Wars I, II and III I completely ignore. What else? Army of Darkness, although it's the same character but it's definitely not part of the Evil Dead universe for me.

Others on top of my head, I ignore Once Upon a Time in China IV and V and Infernal Affairs II and III.

Any else that you ignore?
