Personal Loan Interest Calculation

I took PL of RM10,000 on Jan 2009 (about 6 years ago) for loan tenure of 5 years (60 months), with monthly payment of RM199.

I think for a year or two after that, my monthly payment changed to RM195, before it went back to RM199. (I understand that it is because of change in BLR).

After 60 months, I m surprised to see that based on the latest outstanding amount, i still need to pay for another 12 months (was told that it is because of the hike in BLR). That is additional RM2400! (RM199x12). I should have made full settlement by then, because the amount is not that big (around 1k), but i didnt.

Today, when i saw the latest statement, apparently i have to pay for another extra 2 months! (total of 74 months from initial 60 months, am assuming bcoz of recent BLR hike). How is that possible? I understand that BLR might cause the interest to increase, but really, up to RM4800 interest, from initial interest of RM2400. Can anyone help me with the calculation?

Now that i think of it, i felt stupid because i continue to service the loan, eventhough i can afford to make full settlement years ago.
