Unable to bootup after changing a RAM

Hey yo,

My dell laptop is running on 8GB DDR3 RAM earlier, and I would like to increase the memory to 16GB.

I've bought a new 8GB RAM. The guy at the store told me it's DDR3 but I have no idea if it is DDR3 and if it's compatible with my laptop. Anyway, I've bought it.

Here's the new RAM -

1. I added this new RAM into my laptop Slot #2 - Laptop has this yellow/orange light blinking on the power indicator and didn't boot up.
2. I took RAM in Slot #1 out and put this new RAM in Slot #1 - Same yellow/orange light blinking and cannot boot up.

So.. I'm pretty helpless now. Did I buy the wrong RAM? What is the RAM I should have buy?
Is it because the new RAM is using 1.5V and all my current RAMs are 1.35V?/

Here are the specs of my machine -
Windows 10 Home Edition 64 bit

p/s: it's now running on 12GB RAM with 1 x 8GB in Slot#1 and an old 4GB in Slot #2. I know it's not advisable use different RAM size for slots as it might affect dual channel but I just did it out of fun.

Was wondering if anyone has any idea where to get them?

Since my toys are in different shape and sizes, I'm not too sure if there are any places where I can get the size I required right out from the market.

Gyms around Setapak

Anyone here has any recommendation on the gyms around Setapak?
I only saw Celebrity Fitness at Wangsa Walk Mall but it's damn expensive , and I'm not keen in joining classes.

I would only prefer a normal gym, with tread mills and weights.

Myvi 1.3 Exhaust repair

I think my Myvi 1.3 exhaust engine has problem. When I accelerate to around 50km/hr and above, it will give me roaring sound like boat. If I accelerate harder, it will roar louder. I suspect it is exhaust problem. Does anyone know what are the approximate exhaust repair fee? I plan to check my car tomorrow and to get ready the cash.

What if holiday fall on Saturday?

Hi sir,

This is my first time working on shift. Let say I work from Thursday to Saturday. And if public holiday falls on Saturday, do I still have to work on Saturday?

Will it be -

1. Work as usual on Saturday even when it's public holiday and a day will be added to AL

OR

2. Don't have to work on Saturday as it's a public holiday

OR

3. Work as usual on Saturday and NO day will be added to AL at all.

Please help me to clarify as I'm not really familiar with labor law.

Hi all sifu,

I've bought a second hand house and by now, my bank has already released all payment, and I have paid all of the remaining late charges to my snp lawyer.

But my agent told me that snp lawyer has not notify vendor on the late charges he need to pay.

My question here is, I did everything from my end already, why can't I take the key?
Should I really wait for the vendor?

p.s: House should be already under my name, and i'm already paying the loan interest and about to pay installment in coming month.

Housing Loan

Hi there guys,

Now I'm in the way to apply housing loan.
My agent has helped me to submit 3 banks, which are Public Bank, Maybank and Alliance Bank.

So now, all of the 3 banks told me my loan has been approved and all of them are fully flexi loan.
Interest rate are almost the same, without any difference.

I would like to ask opinion on which bank is better in terms of flexibility, services and etc, before I go to that bank and sign the form up?

Help needed for first time home buyer

I was about to get my first condo, and according to the agent, bank valuation price of that condo is RM 550K.

From what I calculate for the Legal Fee and Stamp Duty, it is about RM 17k.

Seller sells it for RM 535k.

I'm pretty sure I can get 90% loan, but my question here is does the 90% based on 550k or 535k?

Secondly, am I right that my downpayment will be (10% x 535 k) + 17 k = RM 70500?

Thirdly, is Legal Fee and Stamp duty included into the house loan?

Hey guys,

I'm still considering which car to buy, and this will be my first car.

Would greatly appreciate advises.

Criteria:

1. For girls driver.
2. Space is not that important, Safety is.
3. FC... as long as it's still within 1300cc to 1500cc is still fine with me.
4. City drive, and maybe go back hometown once a month.
5. Don't intend to sell in the future, so, would need a car that can go for long time.
5. From aspect of maintenance cost, which one will be better?
6. Would like a car that will not feel shaky when other big cars drove by.

Hives on my body

Can I still exercise with hives?
These hives have been going on and off for days, even seeing doctor and applying cream don't cure it in a few days.
I believed it's going to be a long fight for me.
But I feel like working out.
But then again, working out means more sweat, body temperature increase, which might makes the hives more severe?

I would appreciate if someone can shed some light on this.

Been working for a year, and I doubt my salary can afford a decent new condo/service apartment in KL Area.
