MaxisFibre Upload bad upload speed

Just installed MaxisFibre 30MB Home 2 weeks ago. Just realized that the upload speed is extremely slow. Around 1.2 - 1.6 mbps. Download OK.

Complained to Maxis. Changed settings on the router, changed channels etc. Nothing works. One tech even said that it is because of the old wiring in my apartment. Can it be the case?

Yet to get a suitable time for the tech to come over to check physically. Anybody can help?

Choosing plan for 8 year old daughter

Hi, I bought a basic smartphone for my 8 year old daughter and now looking for a basic plan for her.

She has never own a phone before, so I am not sure what the usage will be like. I have heard about the supplementary account of RM10 (access fees) for Maxis, but not sure whether that will be right for her. I am using Maxis and currently I have 1 supplementary line.

I have wifi at home, so maybe some 3G access would be great when she's outside. Otherwise, I can use tethering when we travel together.

I have done a little research on the web, but it is making me more confused. Really appreciate the expert advice.

Almost got conned by wishingstar866!

After I put my advert to buy a DSLR on LYN 2 days ago, yesterday I received an sms from 0135725598 telling me that she has the DSLR that I wanted and willing to let go for a very low price. However, she is in Ipoh and she immediately sms for my address to ship the phone. I hesitated because I have heard about this scam where the seller really wanted to send their stuff and then asked for payment to be made before they send. I probed further, and sms her to email me the DSLR picture which she initially hesitated and furthermore, she got angry because I sms her that I just wanted to verify. She relented and send me the picture through email from wishingstar866@gmail.com. Looks genuine. Then, we agreed on a lower price. She called herself Ms Ling.

I sms her if I can ask my brother to meet with her at Ipoh JJ and agreed to meet at 3.30pm. My brother drove all the way from Rawang and managed to reach on time. He sms and tried to call her but she never replied and never answered. My brother asked me to contact her and I sent an sms, which she replied that she need to wait for her bf "maybe at 5pm/6pm". I replied if she can make it earlier as my brother has to go to work at 7pm. From then on, she never replied and never answered my brother and my calls. My brother even arranged so that he can go to work later, and sms her that he can wait until 6.30pm infront of Sushi King. She never replied.

6.30pm, I sms to her that I felt cheated and wasted both my brother and my time waiting for her. Suddenly, she replied that she suspected me as a robber and will make a police report. What a joke! She mentioned an inspector Hassan, and I immediately checked with my uncle at Police HQ that no inspector by the name of Hassan in Ipoh.

This is what I think has happened - She tried to get me to pay online for the non-existent DSLR, but failed. She didn't think that my brother will really drive all the way to Ipoh JJ and that got her scared. She came up with excuses not to meet by delaying the meet. But after some follow-up calls, she panicked and try to fake a police report so that I won't bother her anymore.

In this whole incident, she never picked up ANY calls from me. Therefore, she might not be a she and she/he might not even live in Ipoh.

Please be careful of this scam artist. I am lucky that I am careful enough. Wasted a few hours, petrol and toll though.
O2 crashed! Help!

My boss's O2 crashed recently while he was on a trip to China. All his data was erased including pictures (especially pictures of his 6 childrens growing up) and work data. He went to an authorized O2 store yesterday and was told that the data can't be salvaged, but he thinks otherwise. Anybody can help?

I know that there are services which can salvaged data from PC hard disk, but is there any for O2?
