Chocolate Museum

Just would like to share my experience went to Chocolate Museum, which is located in Kota Damansara. Nothing much about museum but more on place where you can buy "cheap" chocolate. Not really cheap if you compare with the one in Langkawi but of course cheaper than in KL.

Varieties of chocolate that you can find here, i.e. Danson, Ferrero Rocher, Loacker, Daim and many more.

Dear All,

Need your suggestion on which GPS to buy. Previously I had GPS when I bought proton car but after nearly 2 years, it was cracked and they told me that the cost of repairing about RM700. As i think it is so expensive, can u suggest me which model and brand to buy and how much it will cost me. I heard garmin is not bad but not sure which one. another thing where the best place to buy at the best price. thanks

Need your help guys. Today I have topped-up credit into my mum's phone. Then I saw messages in her phone that charge RM0.50 per message. These had been going for few days. The sender is 36545. I do not know how this thing happened. As such, I need your help to block or disconnect the service. Thanks.

According to Pos Malaysia, stamp prices will be increased from 30 sen to 60 sen effective 1 July 2010 for the mail less than 20 gram.

Problem with Firefox

I am having problem with firefox, please help me... Sorry I am unable to put the image here.... My problem is when I try to access one website, gengblogger using firefox, the upper part of the page is not available i.e. fconnect icon but if i am using explorer there is no problem with it. I am not sure how to set it. The reason why i do not want to use explorer because it is so slow..

If you are not sure what I am trying to say you can get better picture by visiting my site... (Sorry this is not I want to promote my site but to solve my problem..) Thanks in advance.... So far the suggestions given can solve my problem.....

I am not sure where should I post this. By the way, I went to the clinics yesterday just to take the medicine but I was surprise when the staff at the counter told me that I need to see doctor even if I just to take medicine, just normal medicine, fever. Hmmmm maybe because some people misuse the medicine and buy over the counter

Berikut ialah ringkasan budget 2010 yang baru sahaja selesai dibentangkan:

* Pelepasan cukai pendapatan sebanyak RM500 setahun (2010-2012) bagi langganan boradband
* Penjawat awam kini boleh memperoleh pinjaman komputer sebanyak RM5,000 setiap 3 tahun jika dibandingkan setiap 5 tahun sebelum ini
* Pemberian Biasiswa Nasional kepada 30 orang yang terbaik diseluruh Malaysia bagi melanjutkan pelajaran ke peringkat Izajah di universiti tersohor di dunia
* Peminjam PTPTN yang mendapat Ijazah Kelas Pertama mulai tahun 2010 akan ditukarkan pinjaman kepada biasiswa
* Diskaun 50% kepada pelajar yang berumur 13 tahun ke atas bagi menggunakan keretapi jarak jauh dengan KTMB
* Pelajar boleh memperoleh netbook dengan langganan broadband dengan kadar RM50 sebulan selama 2 tahun. Package ini lebih murah daripada kadar di pasaran. Keutamaan akan diberi kepada pelajar tahun 1 universiti keluarga berpendapatan rendah. Buat permulaan Telekom akan menawarkan kepada 100,000 pelajar
* LRT (Kelana Jaya-Taman Melati) akan ditambah dengan 35 unit tren
* Terminal Pengangkutan Bersepadu akan dibina di Gombak bagi mengurangkan kesesakan di bandar

* Sistem Pengurusan Subsidi bagi petrol akan diperkenalkan pada awal 2010, untuk memberi hanya kepada yaang memerlukan dengan menggunakan infrastuktur yang sedia ada dan MyKad
* Kadar elaun bagi Orang Kurang Upaya (OKU) akan ditingkatkan daripada RM50 sebulan kepada RM150 sebulan bagi yang bersekolah di sekolah khas - ianya melibatkan 4,000 pelajar OKU
* Bagi pencarum EPF yang memilih caruman sebanyak 8%, boleh memilih untuk meningkatkan kembali kepada 11% berkuat kuasa serta merta
* Bagi assessment 2010, cukai individu maksima akan diturunkan daripada 27% kepada 26%
* Pelepasan individu bagi tujuan cukai pendapatan individu dinaikan daripada RM8,000 kepada RM9,000 setahun
* Semua Jabatan dan Kementerian di bawah kerajaan dikehendaki menyediakan pusat penjagaan kanak-kanak. Bagi tujuan ini, kerajaan memperuntukan RM200,000 bagi setiap jabatan / kementerian

KUALA LUMPUR: Who in their right mind would pay RM42,320 for a laptop?

Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi Mara Balik Pulau in Penang not only paid the price but bought two units of the same brand – Acer Aspire-5052ANWXMI, at a whopping price of RM84,640, said the Auditor-General’s Report.

In addition, the college purchased 450 units of computer CAD with network card at RM3.45mil for 12 labs. Each 19-inch monitor costs RM8,500 while a 17-inch monitor costs RM7,500.

“A check with local companies showed that the market price for the latest model is between RM5,350 to RM6,500 each. Worse still the computers, Precision 390 Dell, that were supplied are no longer in the market,” it said.

Also purchased were 15 laser printers, Hewlet Packard P3005X, at the price of RM7,722 each when the market price was about RM5,000 per unit.

In reply, Mara said the equipment were purchased in a lump sump and there was no price breakdown for the laptops.

The price breakdown was only done after the equipment was supplied for the purpose assets record and it could not be used as a basis for reference.

“Nevertheless, Mara has created a task force and is conducting a price adjustment for all the equipment,” it said.

The report also stated that the college had paid between RM1,398 and RM2,945 for 204 teaching manuals.

“Checks found that the teaching manuals supplied were bound using comb binding. The teaching manuals obtained at a cost of RM358,476 is a waste because they were never used,” it said, adding that the supplier has been notified to provide the original version of the teaching manual in hard cover.

Mara also spent RM2.08mil buying computer software it didn’t need.

Audits also found many discrepancies in prices paid for the same equipment, including the same LCD projectors that costs RM3,500 and RM8,000 for two different laboratories.

“Swivel stools were also purchased at three different prices – RM340, RM350 and RM450 per unit and they did not even meet the agreed specifications in the agreement.

“Other swivel chairs were bought for between RM810 to RM1,050 per unit when the college had bought the same chair previously at RM336 per unit,” it said.

The report also stated that the German-Malaysian Institute which was picked as the consultant, had proposed a ceiling price of RM84.5mil for the purchase of equipment for the college while the Economic Planing Unit (EPU) fixed the price at RM127.65mil.

“The reason for the higher price was to speed up the process of obtaining the supplies. In the end the agreed contract was fixed at RM112.42mil. Mara had submitted a letter to the Finance Ministry to say that the figure was reasonable.

“Audit found that the agreed price for the purchase of equipment is not reasonable. This is because the approach taken by Mara did not fufill the criteria set by the Finance Ministry, which is to negotiate for the lowest price possible.

Budget 2010

Hari Jumaat ni (23/10), PM will table the Budget 2010. I think the budget for next year will be reduced. Govt wil try to reduce the deficit. However, I really hope that there will be income tax reduction for personal tax or increase the rebate, i.e. currently only RM8,000 per person and RM1,000 per child. This is not sufficient under the current scenario. Hope you will share on your wish list.

EPF Withdrawal - House

What do you think of withdrawing funds from EPF for the purpose of monthly payment for housing loan? I think it is OK as it will reduce your burden to serve the installment but at the expense of your future savings.
