what are the odds getting 2 bad mem stick

so i got myself a cheap upgrade to replace by older budget rig - i3 530 + Giga P55US3L + 2x2G DDR3 1333 GSKILL

first i found that i cannot pass the windows bootup - then tried to reinstall windows 7 - same thing pc loads up but freeze at the win 7 boot logo.

after removing all usb etc, finally found the culprit due to gskill stick no. 2, so i manage to run my new rig with only 1x2G stick [lets call it stick no.1]

manage to run one fps game, but game kinda freeze randonly but win 7 did not crash, ctrl-alt-del, can go back to game.

since win 7 is new, it keeps updating during subsequent boot up, then only noticed there is problem with stick no. 1. after win 7 reported there is mem problems.

i managed to load memtest86+, and surprised, my mem stick no.1 got lotsa errors during test!!!!

weirdest thing, i tried mem stick no.2, memtest86+ passed - no error. BUT when retry win7 still will not run.

now im back with stick no.1 - though i need to rma both soon. it was the saleperson who recommended gkill rams - i was getting the kingston (cheaper) but he said gskill is more stable - agghhh

[another thing why is giga board p55us3l using h55 chipset, why is it not call h55us3l????]

new XFXHD4870@stock artifact on desktop

E2220@stock, P35E ABIT, 2xSATA HD, 1 x DVD, Audigy4, Coolermaster RealPower 620 (new), XFX4870 512 @stock (new), BenQ FP92 19" LCD WS, reformat and reinstalled WinXP Pro SP2, latest catalyst 9.8

runnning on DVI cable - immediately after windows boot up, artifacting on desktop screen, switch reso to 60Hz, artifacting gone (either i start @75 or 60, switching to the next one resolve the artifacting?) - start up COD-World at War - can see some artifacting again

running on analog VGA cable - desktop ok, game ok

anyone can shed the light what is the problem when using DVI connection
- rig was running fine before with a 9600GT and Acbel 450W supply - dvi connection
- had similar issue when running an OEM BFG6800 Ultra AGP a couple years back - had to use analog then, that time was running AMD AGP rig, the only thing never change is the BenQ LCD, but how come it is ok when i run new intel rig w 9600GT

Menu key acting weird in some apps

ok now when I select the menu key in some apps, the menu list would appear for a split second and disappear?
it is actually there when i roll the trackball i can see in split second the cursor moving on the list - so quick i cannot really read what i am selecting
the thing is the menu key have no problem in other apps like facebook, bb browser,

not working in e.g. opera mini

any idea what is causing the problem here

injection cleaning service at workshop

any comment on this service - i asked the workshop, costs myr120 to do the injection cleaning using machine - is it worth it??

btw my car already running 85k km (5 yrs), just did auto gear flushing/servicing using machine, previously i did drain service only one time.

miniSD vs SD card

excuse me for noobie question, or if discuss already

Question - if i get a mini-sd card rated say 60x and use the included adapter to use it in a digicam, is the speed going to be diffferent (slower?)

[u might ask why get a mini-SD instead of SD since the digicam uses SD - i almost grab a new digicam recently, the seller offered a mini-SD 1G (rated60x) or some of those normal speed SD card n did not have high speed 1G SD card in stock at that moment]

network connections empty folder?

just got streamyx for my house, going wireless to avoid messy cabling
i have two PCs at home plus two laptop PCs
my laptop is centrino, my wife laptop using a PCMCIA wireless, both can access the wireless dlink, and internet
my gaming PC is a Sempron rig, so i got myself an Aztech usb wireless dongle, also can connect to the wireless network
my problem is the other PC, its a P4 1.4 with RDRAM rig (the very first P4) - no LAN network built in, WinXP SP1
I have install the driver/utilities for the Aztech dongle, and the utilities is running fine and able to detect the wireless network. But when i go to Control Panel > Network Connections, the network connection is empty!! so icannot set the IP and cannot connect to the wireless network, and internet
when i check the system > device manager, i can see the wireless dongle as the network adapter is present
now running out of ideas on how to sort this problem
any tips?
