Hello everyone.

I just went and change my front driveshaft (1 pair) for my proton satria neo 1.6 auto.

Just about 10 minutes out of the garage, this light came up.

All my life driving the neo for almost 10 years plus, this is my first time seeing that light came up. And it came up right after i changed that driveshaft just now.

What does it mean guys? I googled. But cant find the icon. 🥲

Hi everyone.

i'm posting to get some opinions and recommendations. i am planning on buying a new axia base spec, 1.0 AT lowest spec. plan is to use it for daily commute and for work.

i am a freelance photographer, which makes about 3-4k a month. but life expenses is very high, i usually end up with just a few hundreds of balance in my bank account. and it is mainly due to my 2007 satria neo kept on asking for more money to srvice it. i guess its time for the satria neo, already very old. just this morning, i went to a workshop to check, and the compressor die oredi and need to change cooling coil as well as they suspect got some leakage as well, another RM 2100 to service.

what i have in mind is, to just go and buy a new axia, hoping that i can have and own a car with less possible headache.

as for the monthly commitment for the axia (i checked, around rm350 per month), i am pretty sure i can handle it. but my current bank statement is a bit messy (since i'm paying a friend loan monthly for few more months). i have zero bank commitment (never had any). tried to apply for a credit card to build a credit score last year (as suggested by the bank officer), but it wasnt approved.

anyone has any suggestion on what should i do or how to prep my bank acc statement for hopefully easier approval? or anyone can help me with this? i am in cyberjaya.

i am considering, as to keep on repairing the satria neo (which kept on asking for a loathsome of money as more major services keep on appearing), or rather just buy a new axia. lowest spec is fine.

oh and yes. that RM 2100, is for the aircond compressor (china made), cooling coil (china), service, gas, leakage find, and labour charge. reasonable?

i am planning on changing the whole front seat of my satria neo to a new seat. not looking for any fancy racing seat of whatnots. just the regular car seat would be fine. i have been trying to look for one for quite a while but havent really found one. can anybody recommend any shop that sell car seat and can change the front seat?

Rear tyre and brake heat up too much one side

Hello guys. Posting here to ask for opinion.

Currently, my proton satria neo (2007 model, has ABS), rear tyre set (including the brake disc, calipers, everything at the right side, rear tyre section) heats up like crazy when i drive the car.

It is like, maybe the brake disc is constantly hitting the calipers (i dont know, just guessing) when the tyre is moving. But i dont hear any “metal screeching sound” like the disk is hitting the caliper or anything.

If i had to guess, it is like maybe when i drive or when i hit the brake, the brake does not hit the same on four tyres. It probabky hit the rear-right side more than the rest.

For imagination purpose, after a 30 minute casual drive in kL, the rear right brake caliper + disc heats up so much, if i pour water it vaporizes instantly. As for the other 3 tyres n brake disc, i can literally touch them with my fingers (meaning to say its not hot at all)

Then. I go to workshop. They say the disk brake kit is ruin. So they change both side disk brake kit (july 2022). And afterward, still same problem. And they also changed the disc brake kit last march 2022, i forgot why, but i just saw in my service payment receipt. They say they serviced everything at the brake part - clean, lube, flushing multiple times (money gone). They changed caliper pin, doesnt work. More money gone.

I am starting to think this might be a different problem.

Anyone might have any idea why this is happening? I am getting more and more pokai after going to the workshop changing something but still problem not solved.

- i use it mainly for video and photo editing. dont ask me about gaming performance, never tried any games on the machine. but i think the laptop CPU can be upgraded (as it uses the desktop socket for the processor. maybe i'm wrong. not too knowledgeable about this)

- battery life, pretty normal for this kind of laptop i guess. i get around 1.5-2 hours doing regular web browsing/youtube task. if i use premiere pro, probably about 45minutes-1 hour.

- for as long as i remember, editing video and photo, lightroom, photoshop, even during premiere pro rendering, it has never used more than 75% of the GPU power. i edit mainly 1080p clips, and EOS R raw photos in lightroom.

- i lost the driver cd. but tech armory can help you with driver updates, as the latest windows update mess up some of the drivers.

SATRIA NEO ENGINE CHECK ICON LIGHT UP

Hi there everyone,

fellow lyn, i seems to have encountered a rather weird problem with my satria neo. its 2007 model, satria neo 1.6 auto. and based on what i read here, the satria neo has 1 fan only.

start the engine, everything is okay. but after driving for about 5-10 minutes, suddenly, the engine check light comes up, AND the temperature meter soars to the max (like really really hitting the end of the meter). but the problem is, the engine and radiator and water level is okay - no leaking, no water reduce, and when i physically check the engine is not even overheating at all.

when this happens, if i turn off the engine and restart instantly, the temperature meter would instantly drop down back to normal (without having to wait for the engine to cool down or anything)-which also leads me to believe the engine is not "really overheating". if the engine really overheats, i would have to wait 10-15 minutes for the engine to cool down and the meter goes down, but not here tho.

and when i restart the engine, if i leave the car idle (or even when i press the pedal hard and long), the car engine light would still come up, but the temperature meter will not go up at all, no matter how long, or how hard i press the pedal. BUT, once i go change gear into D (or gear 3, 2) the temperature meter rise up to the max again.

went to workshop A. first tried changing thermostat - doenst work. then i go there again, change temperature sensor, also doesnt work.

then i go to workshop B (wthis workshop has about 7-8 mechanics) which uses the computer OBD tools or something to check. i left my car there for about 2 weeks, and they could not figure out the problem. they checked everything that has something to do with engine cooling - aircond, radiator, fan, fan motor, radiator leaking, - everything was fine.

when plugged into the OBD tools, it says the engine coolant sensor is problematic. but they already checked that, and nothing was wrong with it. they tried rebooting the ECU, same problem come up. they even tried swapping the ECU, but still doesnt work. the problem is still there. so much so that they later give up on my car, and let me have take it back. when the OBD tools live-feed the temperature sensor data from the engine, the sensor is showing that the engine is overheating, but in reality its not.

i can still drive the car (stop go stop go). if i turn off the engine for a minute or so, when i re-start the engine, it'll take about 1-2 minutes for the engine check light to come up and the temperature meter to hit the max end. worried, i would stop by the road (highway) for a minute, then start the car and drive again for 1-2 minutes, and stop again.

i am literally clueless now. was hoping workshop B to settle it, but they gave up, not knowing what is really the problem. they tried almost everything they could within their capacity.

when i got back the car last friday, i did some extra testing. and the symptons below, is very consistent.

Engine turned on (note that i would have to turn off the engine and re-start it whenever the temperature meter rise to reset the meter back to the original "normal" mark,

- if i just leave the engine running on idle - no problem.
- Go into gear D, 3, or 2, as soon as the car moves forward, the temperature meter rise.
- if i re-start the engine, and use the "reverse" gear - no problem.

But for all these temperature meter rising, the engine in reality is not overheating (confirmed by mechanics at both workshops. the engine temperature is in reality normal). even the water level in the radiator and reserve tank does not even reduce.

anybody has ever faced this problem before? any suggestion? i am in Cyberjaya, Selangor. if anyone can recommend any good/specialist neo workshop nearby, would be awesome.

1. outer condition, 7/10. lots of scuff everywhere. its an old laptop, and the rubber parts are loosening/peeling off
2. the audio jack - sometimes detect external audio device, sometimes it automatically detect the audio device being removed.
3. the speaker - only one side is functional. the other side is not functional.
4. the trackpad button is in very bad shape. the tracking motion is still working smoothly, but pressing the left and right button is a little bit hard. probably can be fixed by re-adjusting the trackpad, i dont know. i dont really use it since i got myself a wireless mouse.
5. the cd rom drive is no more. i changed it to a hdd/ssd caddy.
6. the LCD hinge - is working fine, just in case you guys are wondering about it

currently, i am still using it as my daily laptop. i use it for photoshop CC , ligthroom CC , and premiere pro CC.

- no performance issue with photoshop
- a little slow on real time editing/effect rendering in Lightroom
- edit 1080p clips smoothly in premiere pro with single layer video and audio track. multi layer track will start to give it hiccups. but rendering time is really good, i presume its due to the discrete graphic card. but real time scrubbing on the timeline, when multiple layers are present, will slow it down a bit.

Tried to buy Illegear Raven + aeon installment

guys. this is an experience sharing*rant*. letting off some unfortunate series of events that happened to me. but this was my experience with illegear+aeon cardless installment.

last month, a friend of mine recommended me to check out illegear website, since he knows that i am in need of a work laptop (i'm a photographer and videographer), and i do work on the go quite frequently. he told me about the installment options at illegear website, which was very tempting. i could upgrade my system, and not burn my wallet a big hole instantly. so i decided to check it out.

after deciding that i would get the i7 raven, proceeded with the purchase options. i then contacted Illegear, and their team was quick to respond. The representative told me i need to proceed and select the AEON Cardless Installment options when checking out to get that installment option. and so i did.

The process then requires me to upload my payslip, bank statement, and ic. which is normal of course. but i cant proceed with the application because i didnt have a payslip (being a freelancer, and quite new for that matter, never had one payslip unfortunately).

then, i tried looking for friends who can actually help with the cardless installment - and i found one. he was kind enough to help me through it, and given his excellent credit score, i tot the process would have been a breeze. BUT. just today, the rep contacted me and told me that the application was rejected - saying that if i want to proceed with the purchase, i and my friend would have to go to OVAL DAMANSARA HQ and make the purchase there, and then come again another day to sign off AEON forms i think, anddd, would have to come AGAIN another day, to collect the laptop since the AEON cardless installment doesnt allow buyer to buy the laptop with delivery options. only via walk in the OVAL HQ.

and so my misery continues. i am from terengganu, and by his explanation, we would have to go to selangor 2-3 times just to buy it with the cardless installment. so much for online store/installment option at their website.

boy how i have had so much hope, and now being dissapointed like this. it feels like, i just lost a good friend. not that it's related in any way, but the hyped thought of getting an upgrade from my i5-2400 desktop was magnanimous, being let down by this matter is a big blow to me. hence, this rant.

- for ILLEGEAR/AEON cardless installment options (which they put up at their online store), NO. you cannot buy it online. yup. didnt work. dont think it's meant to be.
- you will have to go to their DAMANSARA HQ several times to actually purchase the laptop with the AEON cardless installment option. so, if you're not from selangor/KL, you'll have a big time needing to go their HQ multiple times, just to get it.
- and yes. their customer service rep (who responded to my questions on whatsapp) is exemplary. i'd give him/her an award if i know the person. kudos to your customer service team illegear.

AEON PERSONAL FINANCE 2019

guys. first of all pardon me if this is at the wrong sectioin. i tried searching through the forum for the aeon personal finance thread, but couldnt find one. if there is one, and anyone can point me to it, it'd be highly appreciated. thanks!

now. the aeon personal finance. i've been reading their faqs and stuff, but cant quite find anything about early settlement.

for example, i plan on making a 10k personal finance to kickstart my videography business. according ringgitplus website calculator, that's RM 397.8 for 3 years. based on my business forecast, i expect to be able to pay back in full after 12 months, but decided to take the 3 years tenure just in case things go south, the monthly installment is still within my current monthly capacity.

like i said, i read through the faqs, but could not find any info on early settlement? what i wanted to know was

1. is early settlement possible with aeon personal loan?
2. if it is, how much is the penalty? or do i have to pay back all in full (e.g: remaining months x RM397.8?)

anybody have any experience with aeon personal loan?

i'm currently self employed as a small time-just starting photographer, with monthly income of about rm2k.

or if anybody got any other personal loan provider recommendation? i heard aeon is the one with the easiest approval process, which is why i decide to check them out.

Real world pc/laptop experience

hi guys. today i installed the original lightroom CC and the desktop version on my newly bought laptop.

its an i5-7300hq
4gb of ram.
nvidia geforce 1050
hard disk. not ssd

and unfortunately for me, it seems that the overall performance of the laptop when using adobe lightroom is still considerably*annoyingly* slow.

i came from an i7-3rd gen QM machine (cant remember what model), with 4gb of ram, and also normal hard disk (although it was running cc2015 version of lightroom), it seems that my old machine is somewhat more responsive and faster. wonder what else should i do? considering to try out ryzen series machine. but not sure how it will affect the performance.

anybody got some real world experience with the latest adobe lightroom, in regards to the performance of the machine used, what type of proc/ram/etc combo? maybe u guys found a good combination which works with adobe lightroom well?

i noticed a considerable performance boost when using adobe premiere pro on my new laptop, as compared to my old laptop. but sadly, not the case with adobe lightroom.

any thoughts guys?
