Congrats to Dato LCW on his upcoming marriage!

Hey, I was thinking of some crazy idea on how to congratulate our national hero, Dato Lee Chong Wei for his upcoming big day. Since he is getting married on early November, I set up a fan page to congratulate him on his big day and hope to achieve 1 million fans. This will be a great marriage gift for both him and his wife, Datin Wong Mew Choo.

I was hoping LYN forum members who agreed and are fans of Dato Lee Chong Wei will be helping out to Like the fanpage and also share it out with your family and friends if possible. I do believe the well wishes of Malaysians will mean a lot to our Dato.

The fanpage is here
1M Malaysian to congratulate Dato LCW

Car insurance for third party claim

Hi guys,

Want to ask the experts from here regarding the third party claim. 3 months ago, my friend's car was hit from behind and of course the opposing party was in the wrong side since it is clear cut that she cannot brake on time and thus, hit my friend's car. My friend had made a police report and the same goes for the opposing side, the police's result ( KEPUTUSAN) concluded that the opposing party was wrong and my friend claim the opposing party's NCB to fix her car.

The problem is that when my friend try to renew her insurance recently, she found out her NCB was claimed by the opposing side. She called her agent and her agent told her that this is normal since the opposing party was injured during the accident thus she can claim my friend's NCB.

My question is, is this actually allowed? Seem to be totally not fair to me since my friend's has done nothing wrong but she need to fork out extra for the NCB ( Her NCB already 55% and now 0%)!!. Imagine a drunken driver hit you and he was injured but he can claim your NCB even though he is in the wrong, is this even fair?

Hi guys,

Went to the tint shop just now, the girl quoted me RM950 for Solar Gard Titanium for the whole car. Is this consider cheap or expensive? I saw some LYN member mention that the Solar Gard is one of the cheaper brand, is this true? Anyone use it and care to share the experience?

Thanks
Forte, Fiesta or Mazda 2?

Please advice which car is suitable. My budget is under 85k or slightly above. I tried Honda City and Vios, both left me with an OK impression only. This 3 Cars seem to be more promising. Please don't bother to educate me about 2nd hand value or spare parts availability, blah blah blah. I want to hear this from a user that have used these cars before and provide me their respective feedback. No bashing on these cars unless you own one and have a bad experience with it.

Both Mazda 2 and Fiesta come with a 3 years free service and warranty which I think is really an attractive package while Forte impress me with their gadgets and accessories that you will never find for a car under 100k. I have test drive 3 of them, in term of the "fun" driving factor, Fiesta seem to have an upper hand while Mazda 2 and Forte come in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Anyway, this is just a test drive of less then 15 min and I would like to know current owner's opinion on this.
Actually my car main usage is to travel from my home to my office which is roughly 20 min away. Every month, I will drive back to Ipoh from Penang to visit my parents. Other note, I am a guy with average built size.

Thanks in advance

Eltax speakers

Hi guys,

Anyone of you here heard of Eltax speaker? I have one given by my uncle and I am not sure if this speaker is good? Below is the spec of the speaker

Model: LS-300
(10" Double Woofer 3 ways speaker)
Frequency response:35Hz - 20KHz
Sensitivity: 90 dB/1W/1M
Maximum Power
Handling: 300 Watts (Rms)
Impedance: 8 Ohm

Well, I am still searching for a new receiver since the old one died on me but I was thinking of buying the whole set at once( receiver and speaker as a set, Philips, Sony or Panasonic) since it seem to be not that expensive compare on buying a standalone receiver. But if the speaker given by my uncle is a good one, then perhaps it is ok to invest on the receiver alone.

Do give me some opinion on this

Thanks!

How much longer need to wait for land office

Hi guys,

I recently purchased my first property in Penang and I signed my S&P back in June. The bank already released the remaining balance to the vendor's bank for redemption purpose and now according to my lawyer, all the documentation already sent to the land office to do the rest of stamping and stuff. Now this is the tricky part, it has been near to 3 weeks since then and there are still no update from land office, is this normal? According to my lawyer, we can't do anything but wait. This is the final stage and once we have the clearance from land office, my lawyer will be ready to advice the bank to release the remaining balance to my vendor.

1) Anyone has experience with Penang land office? How long they take usually for this kind of stamping and valuation?
2) Any idea to make it faster?
3) The bank already start charging me for the redemption loan and I am paying my current landlord for the rental at the same time, which is killing my wallet

Appreciate if anyone out there can enlighten me on this, thanks
