Penggunaan Kata Sendi Nama Dari dan Daripada

Sebenarnya kata sendi nama dari dan daripada mempunyai pengertian yang berbeza dalam sistem tatabahasa Melayu.

Dari: digunakan di hadapan kata nama atau frasa nama yang menyatakan arah, tempat, waktu atau masa.

Contohnya:

1. Ahmad datang dari mana?
2. Keadaannya semakin tenat dari sehari ke sehari.

Daripada: hadir di hadapan kata nama atau frasa nama yang menyatakan perkara seperti berikut:
(a)
- Punca bagi manusia,
- Institusi
- Haiwan
- Benda
- Unsur mujarad.

Contohnya:

1.Ah Meng menerima sepucuk surat daripada ibunya yang kini sedang berada di Tembok besar China.
2. Ani dapat menyelesaikan masalah itu hasil daripada ketabahannya menghadapi dugaan.

(b) Menyatakan maksud sumber atau asal kejadian sesuatu benda.

Contohnya:

Kain yang dipakai oleh Puan Maznah diperbuat daripada sutera.
Ravi menerima berita kemenangannya dalam pertandingan melukisdaripada berita yang disiarkan melalui televisyen.

c) Menyatakan sebahagian daripada semua. Contoh :

Enam orang daripada mereka mati disambar petir.
Sebahagian daripada pelajar sudah pulang ke rumah masing-masing.

d) Menyatakan perubahan , perbezaan atau perbandingan contoh :

Adik lebih tinggi daripada abang
Pendapatan yang dikemukakan jauh lebih matang daripada usianya yang sebenar.

e) Kata sendi nama daripada boleh hadir di hadapan kata kerja atau frasa kerja dan kata adjektif atau frasa adjektif apabila digunakan untuk menyatakan perbezaan atau perbandingan.

Contohnya :

Lebih baik menjawab soalan daripada tidak menjawab langsung.
Daripada duduk sahaja di rumah lebih baiklah beramal ibadat, membersihkan kawasan masjid dan lain-lain.
