why thaipusam devotees feel no pain?

i have never really understood how the devotees being stabbed and tortured during thaipusam and not feel.

are the devotees so hypnotized that they do not feel the pain? or they use secret numbing medicine? or their god really that powerful?

so i was told about an incident years ago during the thaipusam march.

and so happened, a christian meeting was held in a house on the street where the thaipusam march was passing through.

the christians were caucasians, were so intimidated by the scene, they prayed. prayed for what i do not know, perhaps for protection and peace.

miraculously, few devotees with pins and metal rods stabbed through their anatomies, started to cringe and scream. as if losing what was possessing their bodies.

well anyway, i guess thaipusam also sets the color in the rainbow of malaysia along with many other cultural celebrations. so i shall question no forth, and embrace its mystification.

i was at her father's funeral today

hoax or not. it was speculated that this gecko has the cure for AIDS. not only that it also cures cancerous tumors.

henceforth a hefty pricetag. rm30,000 - 100,000 for a give or take 350g weight geruk.

due to lack of commercialization, a gecko's value fluctuates variably. often caused by several middle-men taking a cut before the deal is closed by the seller and buyer.

so please do, if you have certain knowledge of it, share it here.

on a different note;

i was involved in a deal few days ago. i found the buyer, while a friend found the seller.

buyer was cautious because it was dealt in cash of rm148,000 for the 2 geckos (the 8k was my commision ). but seller was late. and buyer immediately called it off because seller insisted on dealing at an area different from the one agreed upon prior to the deal.

also, we were showed a photo (below) before the deal and the buyer recalled seeing it somewhere else. and to be cautious, thought it was a scam and cancelled the deal.

so i was thinking could it be a bait to a pre-planned robbery?

im having a grand birthday party at my house. my house is in a gated community so every one is pretty close by.

i heard that the government is going to launch this scheme whereby you can earn with your mykad. how true im not too sure.

this is how it works.

with collaboration with EON bank, users can apply for a merchant at a mere cost of RM250.

with that merchant, you can swipe any mykads for every transaction of purchase for selected goods.

if the mykad is swiped the first time on your merchant, you can earn 2% of the owner's expenses down the road every time he or she swipes at other merchants when they spend buying stuff i.e petrol/jusco/shits.

that is the perks of being an agent owing the merchant.

as for the end users, mykad owners may earn points for every time their mykad is swiped depending on the amount of transaction. which you all already know.
