I have a DVI - DVI Cable, hence logically I should have a converter at the graphic card side to convert the HDMI to DVI then only connect the cable?

Which converter should I used? I would have gotten the SGS if its still not stuck at 2.1 with all the GPS issues. However, note that at close range, you can make out checkboxes on a total white screen, I read that this is because of the Pentile technology. So at close range (less than a foot from eye), the iPhone screen actually looked better, but at normal distance, it looked better than iPhone's retina. People who have not seen Super Amoled should try it out first with the SGS.

Contrary to a lot of reviewers that dislike the placement of the power button at the side, I liked it a lot, when I pull it out of my pocket, there's where my thumb is and I can unlock it without moving anything. Its better than having it at the top (which you have to move your index finger to unlock it), or at the front (where your thumb will have to turn in an awkward manner).

The phone is extremely light, my previous phone was a HTC Magic, and I could always feel it in my pocket, but this Nexus S, though it have 4 inch screen instead of 3.2, I couldn't feel it in my pocket, and there's more than once that I thought my phone is not in my pocket.

The back cover is extremely hard to remove compared to other phones, unlike the previous nokia, motorola, samsung and htc that I have, this one we just need to prank it open, and to be honest, sometimes I am afraid of breaking the back cover!

Owner's List

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

1. kiwlm (v1 TS)
2. viperckl
3. simonho09
4. ky_guy
5. elimi8z
6. si33ut
7. modskywalker
8. half_lif3
9. mohdhaaziq
10. beemek
11. But it is not the same as Jailbreak in Apple. First and foremost, you're not in the jail by having Android. So nothing to break out from it You're in a vast "open spaces" in which you will decorate it to become a garden, condo or whatever you wanted to do with it. By having this access, you can explore the system files, make a full backup of it, some modding on the themes, applications etc. But Root does not mean you can "start" installing ehem applications. It has been there since before rooting. Remember, you are in the "garden" not in the "jail".

Flash = is the action of replacing (upgrading or downgrading) the firmware, baseband or kernel.

ROM = actually it is best to call firmware, ROM in a technical short form of Read Only Memory. Since firmware is stored in the ROM thus they just called it as ROM for more understandable communication term.

Stock = original firmware that was supplied by the manufacturer.

Custom = modified firmware from "Stock" or recompile from "AOSP" source. Same goes to kernel as well.

Firmware = the operating system and applications but not the one you downloaded from market. This one will survived factory reset.

Baseband = the GSM / Modem / phone binary driver.

Kernel = the image / software layer which make the bridge between the hardware and the firmware. It consists mostly of device drivers, memory management, partitions etc.

Bootloader = the hardware booting image before kernel loading. The one which will present you recovery or download mode.

Recovery = recovery menu is for recovery purpose. This is the first level of recovery. Can be official or custom recovery like Clockworkmod or Teamwin recoveries.

Download mode = this is the second level of recovery. Mostly to flash back original firmware back to stock condition. Requires Samsung Odin software.

If you messed up with the bootloader, then your phone will be RM1K paper weight. But with recent development, there is a way to recover it by yourself but I haven't done it so I can't share the experience on this matter. Perhaps, someone may share his / her experience on this matter.

8. half_lif3
9. mohdhaaziq
10. beemek
11.
