iLife ownership & other MacOS questions

iLife ownership
Guys, seems like a stupid question but this is the story:

1. Bought MBA 13" 2012 for wife, so I setup everything with her Apple ID.
2. After a week, my old laptop died and I wanted to get another one. Wife likes MBA 11" 2012. So, I agreed to swap with her 13" 2012.
3. Bought MBA 11" 2012 and setup everything with her Apple ID. Meanwhile transferred the 13" ownership on Apple website to mine.
4. Setup MBA 13" 2012 for myself and now it seems like the iLife is now registered under her Apple ID. iLife won't update unless I login to her Apple ID.

So is there anyway I transfer the iLife ownership? I've tried emailing Apple but no response after 1 month!

General Mountain Lion/Mac OS Help

1. Since now I have 2 users now on my MBA, everytime after a reboot, I'll have to login. I'm too used to tap to click, so it is very annoying to have to do a physical press on the touchpad on the login screen. Any ideas how to solve this?

2. Is there a shortcut for Finder so that I can open 2 Finder windows at once (like Windows+E for Windows Explorer)? e.g. I need to copy folders to another folder for work purposes.

3. Safari is my main browser. So, any way to configure Google Chrome to open incognito as default when I click on Chrome icon?

4. Any SFTP programs on Mac to recommend? I used to use WinSCP. All on Appstore seems to be paid apps.

5. Keyboard shortcut key to launch connect to server? (like Windows+R, then IP address?) Now I have to goto Finder, go and select connect to server then type smb:\\IP address.

6. Excel for Mac 2011 - anybody knows a site which gives you a clue as to why some add-ins won't work? For my case, I use YFQuote.xla quite alot which retrieves stock quotes from Yahoo Finance. For now my only solution is to install Win7 in Parallels, then install Excel for Windows there.

7. After upgrade to ML, AirDrop search rate becomes very slow. Takes like 30sec to find nearby Mac. Is this normal? Before on SL, it was almost instant.

8. Is it normal for Safari to hang for like 1/2 a second when clicking a lot of links out in a background tab? e.g. going to popurls.com and then clicking all those links so that it will load in background.

9. Batt life seems to increase if I use it up to 75% then go charge it. Also, if I do this it does not count as a battery cycle as per CoconutBattery?

10. Is it normal if you select multiple things to delete and then it takes 1/2 a second to respond causing you to almost press cmd+delete again?

Thanks guys!

Easiest way to view Photos

Hi guys,

Just bought an MBA and I'm extremely new to MacOSX.

While i'm wowed by all these separate desktops, multitouch trackpad gestures, i can't seem to find an easy way to view photos in a folder like in Windows Explorer.

If i click on 1 photo in the folder, it'll open up in Preview and won't allow me to go to the next photo unless I select all photos in the folder, right-click and then select open in Preview.

The other option seems to be iPhoto but I need to import the folder into it first before it'll let me do so.

Can someone let me know how I can do it like Windows Explorer i.e. open 1 photo in folder containing all photos and then if click on the left/right arrow buttons i can see other photos?

Anyone owns the cheapest Acer S3 model?

If I'm going to use only for websurfing, ms office work, no heavy duty stuff like photoshop, is this good enough?

Main idea is for a cheap PC which is light and easy to carry around. Was close to buying Macbook Air but this seems like a really good deal for half the price @ rm 18XX.

Specs below:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

- Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook S3-391-32364G34
- Intel Core i3-2367M-1.4GHz
- 4GB DDR3, 320GB HDD + 20GB SSD
- Intel HD Graphics 3000
- Windows® 7 Home Basic 64
