I just came back from shopping

When I reached a T-junction, I stopped before turning left and suddenly I saw a kid standing at the middle of the T- junction. If I were driving straight I could hv hit her

The father was carrying two handful of plastic bags and already at the opposite side of the road, leaving her to cross alone. Maybe 3 or 4 yrs old?

My points are:

- parents please take care of ur kids
- drivers please stop look go. That one second can mean a lot and might change ur life
- dont speed in carpark, u cant go out any faster
- turn on ur lights to improve ur visibility to others in basement carpark.
- please use indication light
- there r many families traveling with young children. Be considerate.

Gazing suggestively at the camera, Georgia May Jagger’s modelling campaign for Just Cavalli perfume certainly looks provocative.

However, it’s not the 22-year-old’s sultry pose that has triggered controversy, but the H-like symbol on her wrist.

The advert featuring the model daughter of Mick Jagger, part of a campaign by Italian fashion house Roberto Cavalli, has been singled out by followers of a branch of Islam, who said it ‘cheapens’ and ‘degrades’ one of its holiest symbols.

The pictures of Georgia May – daughter of the Rolling Stones frontman, 70, and model Jerry Hall, 57 – have prompted demonstrations by Sufi Muslims in London, outside Harrods, as well as in Dusseldorf, Germany, and Los Angeles, since they were first released in the middle of last year.

The campaign – put together by Italian fashion house Roberto Cavalli to promote a designer fragrance – shows Miss Jagger with an ornate H-like symbol on her skin.

It’s similar to a sign Sufis use to refer to Allah and representatives of the community have said it is ‘heartbreaking’ to see it used to make money.

There are an estimated 500,000 adherents of Sufism worldwide and they are demanding the symbol, which they have previously had trademarked, be removed from the adverts.

American student Nasim Bahadorani, one of the protest organisers, said: ‘To use something that means so much to us for corporate profit cheapens our sacred symbol. It’s disrespectful, offensive and degrading.

‘We have this sign that to us represents blessed peace. It’s a refuge. To see it disgraced like this for a company to make money is heartbreaking.’

Roberto Cavalli, which has used the image in campaigns since 2011, claims the symbols are not the same. It is a stance supported by the EU, which last month rejected a request by Sufi groups to ban the company from using the sign.

- casino is good example of earning ppl money. Y ppl still gamble? By the way, Genting also diversified into Power iirc but not much from that I guess

- Where is maybank n cimb ? Their visibility are much higher, even in regional countries. They can't be that far behind public bank n Hong leong right?

After Tanda Putera’s poor showing, Perkasa wants it to be screened for free

The Malay rights group’s vice president Datuk Zulkifli Noordin said the film’s returns at the box office should not be a yardstick for its quality.

Perkasa is calling for Tanda Putera to be screened for free to the public after its dismal showing at the box office.

The Malay rights group’s vice president Datuk Zulkifli Noordin said the film’s returns at the box office should not be a yardstick for its quality.

“We had given suggestions before that the film should be shown in schools, public places and to all parliamentarians and state assemblymen.

“We had also asked that it be shown on television with repeats,” said Zulkifli today at a press conference.
He said everyone should watch the film to learn about the true history behind the May 13 race riots in 1969.

“In principle, Tanda Putera should be viewed by everyone,” he said.

Perkasa’s president, Datuk Ibrahim Ali also said the film was never expected to receive a good response as youths were not interested in the historical film genre.

He added that another reason the movie received poor response was because many people had seen it before it was even screened in the cinemas.

The controversial film, which received a RM4.8 million grant from FINAS and MDeC has failed and it is being screened in smaller cinemas due to poor response.

The film took RM500,000 over its four-day opening, from last Thursday to Monday.

Tanda Putera has been the centre of controversy following concerns that some scenes and dialogues in the film could incite racial tension.

DAP and MCA had criticised the film for showing that the Chinese were responsible for the May 13 riots.

DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang was upset with Tanda Putera for showing a scene of several young Chinese youths urinating at a flagpole in the compound of the home of former Selangor menteri besar Datuk Harun Idris.

Many people have neglected first impression.

To start, it is personal grooming. Too many fresh grads are still maintaining their undergrad "style" to report to work. Well, u may say it is "eccentric" or quality of work is more important, but first impression last a very very long time

Secondly, handshake. Some are limp, and girls are shy. Some don't shake hand coz of religion forbid them from doing so.

Went back kampung for Qing Ming and heard stories:

1) A rich family head of family passed away. All family members start to argue about inheritance.

2) A poor family also the same coz those few sibling rather get the family house than to buy new house now (expensive new development)
