Mother Board Unable to Detect Graphics Card

Hi guys,

I need some advice here.

Problem: My new mother board is not able to detect the new GPU.

I recently upgraded my hardware while salvaging some of the older parts.

Hardware profile:
1) NEW - Gigabyte B75M-DEV
2) NEW - Intel Core i5 3470
3) NEW - Sapphire HD7850 OC 2GB
4) NEW - Kingston DDR3 PC1600 8 GB
5) OLD - Corsair Force 3 120 GB SSD
6) OLD - Silverstone ST560 560 Watt PSU
7) OLD - Some Samsung DVD ROM

Things I've tried:
1) Installed the NEW GPU on the old mobo - Success. Confirmed GPU is working fine.
2) Installed the OLD GPU on the new mobo - Success. Confirmed PCI-Express slot is working fine.

Please help me.

Hi guys,

I'm having some problems with my current gaming rig.
Can't seem to run Path of Exile at all.
My rig is struggling very badly even in the lowest video settings.

I have limited budget, and am thinking what is the best way to upgrade.
I'm planning to get something like a Sapphire HD7870 XT.

Do you think I should consider changing CPU, mobo and RAM together?

HDD: Corsair Force 3 120 GB
RAM: Kingston DDR2 800 2 GB X 2
Graphics Card: Sapphire ATI Radeon 4850

Limiting 1 Shell Session

Hi guys,

I'm trying to limit shell session to 1 with the pam_limits option maxlogins.

It works like a charm until the session hangs in the system (network interruption etc. when the client session doesn't end gracefully).
When this happens, the server would not recognise the client as dead and would then disallow any attempt from the same user to login to the system.

I've been playing around with TCPKeepAlive, ClientAliveInterval and ClientAliveCountMax but none of them seems to work. The hung sessions are not disconnected by the system.

Anyone have any experience playing around with this?

I've just installed my new rig with Windows XP PRO SP1.

There are a lot of system crashes (auto restart).

Here are the specs of my new rig: -
Processor: Intel C2D E8400
Motherbaord: ASUS P5KPL
Graphics Card: Colourful 4850 512MB
Memory: 2 x 2GB Kingston Value DDR2 800
PSU: Silverstone ST56F
Casing: Coolermaster Elite330
Hard Drive: Seagate 750 GB SATA
Optical Drive: LiteON 52x CD-ROM

Any idea what's the problem?

Silverstone ST56F Doesnt come with 4 pin ATX12V

Hi guys,

I'm in the process of assembling my new rig.

I'm using the Silverstone ST56F and it seems like this PSU comes with a 8-pin ATX12V whereas my motherboard (ASUS P5KPL) is expecting a 4 pin one.

I'm stuck with this ATX12V connector now.

What should I do?
Will the motherboard boot up and run properly without the ATX12V connected to my PSU?

Turning down a job offer

Hi guys,

How should I turn down a job offer in a polite way?

This is the scenario:
I got a job offer from Company A. I told them I would accept the offer but I have not signed the agreement yet. Few days later, Company B offered me a job, with better salary. I prefer to work for Company B, because I think that the environment there is better...

Now, the question is, how do I tell Company A that I will not work for them? They'll probably call me in 2-3 days time to make an appointment of signing the agreement, but I'd like to inform them about it now. So what is the best way to turn down the offer from Company A in a polite way?

System dead

My system was dead for a few days already and I have no clue what to do with it.
I couldnt get my system on after a power failure at my house.

Im using ABIT K8T800 mobo (AWARD BIOS)
2x KVR 512 Mb
AMD Athlon 2800+ socket 754

When I press the power on button on my casing, there is a warning from the mobo. Its a 2-note sounds, the first note is longer than the second one. And also, the HS fan on my processor wont work. The mobo indicated error 9C but my user manual doesnt seem to have that particular 9C code description.

A few friends of mine told me that the 2-note warning sounds like RAM problem. I've tried to remove one of my RAM, changed the DIMM slot and also changed the other RAM but I still got the same warning.

Anyone have any idea whats wrong with my system?

SATA and IDE HDD conflict?

Hi,
I've made a post earlier but I still cant solve my problem.
My system worked fine with 1 SATA HDD.
Currently I've jsut bought a new IDE HDD and my system couldnt detect it.

Today I plugged off the CD ROM IDE cable and my system could detect the new IDE HDD. I formatted the new HDD and then replugged in my CD ROM into my system. But this time, my system cant detect both my CD ROM and IDE HDD. So whats the problem? My Window Manager cant even detect the HDD.

By the way Im using Abit K8T800 motherboard.

Hi,

My system has been running a WD SATA HDD for like a year already.
Recently, I've just bought a new Seagate IDE HDD and conected it in my system. But my system doesnt seem to be able to detect my new HDD.

Any clue on how should I do so that the new HDD will be detected by my system?
