hi all,

I started this thread after motivated by our new Administrative Direction in fighting corruption. To fight it, we need to understand it first.
So lets talk about it like this.(example)

Where?
Private Sector- semi GLC.

How much?
Project/Product actual value: RM2mil
Project/ Product "special" value: RM3mil

Project/ Product Description?
Bina water storage tank on old building.

Modus Operandi?
Actually there is no need to install the water tank lo but need some "money " for own pocket.
So decided to "create" a project.
Work hard to get approval, submit tender to 3 companies. Proposal engineers from 3 companies pakat to mark up price/
Something like
Tenderer A quote: RM3mil
Tenderer B quote: RM3.5mil
Tenderer C quote: RM3.8mil

Then of course A won. Then the extra RM1mil is split among:
- contract holder
- Buyer
- Contract Admin
- Tenderer Proposal Engineer A, B, C

Corruption value?
RM1mil

Corruption media?
Cash, handed over by hand to avoid tracking in overseas.

After I resign, will I get my Bonus, Salary.?

Opinion and advice needed for a situation.

I worked very hard for my company. Sometimes 7 days a week. In the end, I have accumulated about 30 days of leave.
I applied leave for whole month of Jan 2010. It is approved by my direct boss with the condition I can finish my work. Yes, I am finishing my work from now till Dec 2009.

At first I wanted to relax a bit for the whole month of Jan 2010 but now I want to resign from my company and want to have a good rest.

I am entitled for a 1 month bonus in my employment contract by 31 Jan 2010.

My leaves from 31 Dec 2009 to 31 Jan 2010.

My resignation notice period is 1 month.

There is no clause mentioned in my employment contract that I cannot use leaves as notice period. I have ex colleagues who have done so.

So, I plan to tender my resignation on 31Dec 2009 and use the remaining leaves as the 1 month notice period.

I am working for a big US company with international who has a small operation in Johor Bahru with the workforce of 40 professionals.

Legally, I know I am entitled my Jan 2010 salary and my 1 month bonus.

My questions are:
1. Do you think the company will play dirty and cheat me by deciding not to give me my salary and 1 month bonus
2. What if the company play dirty and cheat me by deciding not to give me my salary and 1 month bonus. What should I do?
3. Who I should seek help from if that happen? Ministry of HR? Any contacts?
4. How to exit from the company without making too many enemies

Can you all recommend some tires for my Toyota Vios E-spec 2006 (first generation)

Currently using the cheapskate Goodyear NCT5 15".

VERY NOISY esp after 80km/h.

Can you recommend me something that is not too expensive?

advice needed,

i knew a girl for many years- we are very good friends. recently, we have decided to go into a steady relationship. but i encounter some problem especially from her very strict mummy.

situation:
the mummy like very fierce and very strict and dont seem to like me. i dont know why. we can't confirm. we suspect the mummy thought we already started dating but keep the truth from her. this is not true, we were very closed as friends but never started yet.

guess:
maybe the mummy thinks i m not good enough for the daughter?
the daughter is a doctor, i consider myself to be good enough. i am an engineer with annual income 100k. i have very good educational background and career profile.
I dont think i m not good enough for her.

maybe the mummy thinks that the daughter needs to date another dr.

background:
conservative parents with disciplinarian mummy.parents in 60s.
chinese backgound with very oriental values.
friendship for more than 5 years.
been to the house only few times beccause always very busy and shy to see the family
age: late 20s....

what is your advice? tq.
