thinking of getting a new pc.

budget is about 2.5k without monitor
If possible would prefer a more silence build (no need water cooling).

PC cannot start/power up

Hi Guys,

My trusty 5 year old PC just gave up on me today.
Was wondering can i still salvage it?
Can't really remember the details of the PC

Gigabyte 865P mobo
C2D E6400
gigabyte 9800GT
CM430 PSU

The pc was running fine for the whole weekend. (playing diablo 3 without any issues)
It is just today when I tried to power up the pc, nothing happens.
I have tried to pulling out and plugging in the GC and RAM.
Still the same.
Any ideas?

Been through the forum liao and narrow to this few selection.
also been to shops to scout around.
Wanna ask on which would be a better choice for lcd tv.

1) Toshiba 42ZV600e
2) Samsung LA40C650
3) Sony KDL-40EX500
4) Panasonic TH-L42D25K (LED LCD)

Mostly usage is for Astro (sports) and PS3 games.
need advice from all the sifus here.

CPU overheat?

Hi All,

I need some advise on the current CPU temperature which i'm having right now.
I'm not sure whether it is overheating or not
My system

GB P965-DS3
C2D E6300
CM Centurion 5 + CM 430 PSU

My temperature at idle is about 48-50 C
Full load can go up till 65C.
Is this normal?

I did change the stock thermal paste to Arctic Silver 5 still the same results.
Any advise?

I considering to upgrade my gigabyte 7600gt graphic card but dunno whether my current system can support which card.
my budget is about rm500+

my current system is

c2d E6300
gigabyte p965-ds3 (rev 1.0)
2gb 667 RAM
CM 430 PSU

I saw some 8800gt and 9800gt within the price range, but dunno my system can support or not.
Are those 8800gt or 9800gt very noisy cards? cos my current GC is using passive cooling. prefer silent system

PC keeps restarting problem

Hi,

Need help from all the sifus here.
My fren got a major problem.
The PC keeps on restarting after turning on for awhile.
At the windows loading page, windows and even in BIOS.
Tried disconnecting DVD-ROM, floppy also same thing.
Tried plugging out and plugging in everything again also same.
Really need some help on this
Btw, he is using a MSI 865 mobo.

Problem with MT800 and DI-514

helping out a friend. Tried to help him but failed. So now asking all the pros here.

Broadband provider
ISP/package: RM66
Location: Kinrara
Have you called your ISP's helpline?: Yes

Personal equipment
Modem: Huawei MT800
Wifi Router: DI-514

Problem details
Problem description: Can't get internet when connect the wifi router to modem. Configure the DI-514 to dial a PPPoE to the Huawei MT800 modem. In the DI-514 status page, shows that PPPoE is disconnected.

Brought the same modem and wifi router to my house and test. Work flawlessly without changing any configuration.
Brought back to friend's house. Cannot work. Only can work when he connect his pc directly to his modem.

Any solutions?
