Which telco would you recommend?

hey guys im planning to buy an iphone 3gs 16gb.. My friend told me its available in Singapore for just RM 1400 (vs through maxis RM2000 + 1 yr plan 100 per month approx)..is this true? would it be a better idea to buy from Singapore?

also is it likely that a better smart-phone would be out in the market in the next 4-6 months (wondering whether to hold off buying the iphone and buy the "next best thing")

Need desktop recommendation, 3.2k, gaming

1. budget - RM 3200 (including good monitor, cheap mouse-keyboard-speaker---will buy nice ones in a couple of months)

2. purpose Computer gaming (and possibly graphics designing in the future)
- 2a Latest PC Games
- 2b. DEtail - as high as possible... and monitor- as good as possible within budget

3. intended purchase date - 12th sept saturday (in a hurry cuz i need for uni work--SQL stuff)

4. preference - not sure, a friend told me AMD is better value of money, and ATI (where can i find reliable info on pros and cons intel vs AMD, ATI vs nvidia?)
