Any Notebooks around RM2000?

Hello there, I'm here asking this question on behalf of my friend. (btw, am I posting in the right place?)

FYI, she wants a new notebook around RM2k or maybe less than if possible but have no idea how/where to choose/buy one.

She'd like to have specifications such as Intel core 2 duo processor, FREE DOS, a bigger RAM (at least 2gb but much preferable a much bigger 1, 3 perhaps?), at least 180gb or more hard disk drive, a normal screen size will do (14 inch, right?), a better graphic card (it isn't really matter).....

It could be any brands like HP, Compaq, Toshiba, Dell, Asus, Lenovo and so on...but she doesn't really trust brand like Acer, but if you have any recommendations of Acer notebooks, feel free to tell me, she might change her mind, who knows?

But do you think she can get a laptop for RM2k with all these specifications?

I have a Toshiba notebook (Satellite L510-S413), specifications: intel core 2 duo, vista home premium, 4gb (free upgrade though), 296gb hdd, 14 inch screen size, just a normal graphic card (not sure abt this) and I got it for RM2500 at pc fair.

Maybe I should just recommend this laptop to her?

But she prefers HP or Dell more, if my memory serves me right So any models that are somewhat close to her wanted-laptop?

By the way, I found HP Pavilion dv2-1000 very close to her meets, but I have a question regarding the processor, AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 / 1.6 GHz , was it any better than the intel core 2 duo?

The performances? Anything? I have never heard of this processor, please do tell me more about it, million thanks!!
