I'm looking for loose pieces of Suzuka Kastone DS-901. My feature wall is almost complete but I'm missing 10 pieces. The company won't sell loose pieces, and if I were to buy a whole box, it will cost >RM100 .

Does anyone have leftover pieces of the brickstone available?
Electrical socket planning and positioning

I'm currently planning electrical socket positions in my house, and would like to seek some advice from the expert forumers here:

General
1. In general, what is the height of an electrical socket?

Living Hall
2. For TV console, what is the optimal location and amount for electrical socket?
3. I see some houses has a single master switch to turn on/off all electrical sockets in the TV console. Any feedback about this idea?

Kitchen
4. Where is the electrical socket of the refrigerator placed? If it is placed behind the refrigerator, it will not be accessible due to the tight fitting of the refrigerator cabinet, no?
5. What are the electrical appliances in the kitchen that requires dedicated circuitry (i.e. no looping)?
6. AFAIK only the oven requires a 15A electrical socket. Anything else that I've missed?
7. How do you turn on/off a built-in oven?
8. Do you place your electrical sockets low (near to the counter) or high (near to the top cabinet)? What are the pros and cons?

Bedroom
9. What is the height of electrical socket near bedside table?
10. For bedside lamp, do you use a switch, or a normal electrical socket will do?

Bathroom
11. Where do you place electrical sockets?
12. Is water proof cover required for the sockets?

Thanks in advance!

My Renovation Diary

Prologue

After many months of waiting, finally we got the keys to our future home! My wife and I bought this 10 years old semi-detached unit sometime back in January 2013, and was the official owner since April 2013. However, the previous owner has requested to rent the place from us until their new house is ready. Frankly speaking, I was very eager and can't wait to start renovation and move in as soon as possible, but being nice person after all, we can't really chase them out right? Also, we thought it would be good to use the rental as our renovation fund, so to speak. Turns out that price of everything has increased since then, and we will probably need to spend more now!

Anyway long story short, we started scouting for a main contractor to handle most of the wet work, electrical and plumbing task. We don't really dare to approach individual sub-contractors, as we both have no experience in renovation, and would really need someone experienced to handle the project management and coordination part. I think I have received quotation from 5 firms before decided to pick Mr Ang as my main contractor. His quotation is not the cheapest, but we find the quotation to be very comprehensive and detailed. Also, having visited a site that he is working on, we are confident that he will be able to meet our expectations. The biggest concern we have with him is that he is not punctual and was always late for his appointments (sometimes with last minute cancellations! ) Fingers crossed that we are not making a wrong decision here.

Without further ado, I present the original floor plan from the S&P agreement (my layout is the one on the right):

Ground Floor

The previous owner extended the terrace as well as the kitchen. The extension is not shown in the floor plan.

First Floor

No modifications made by the previous owner.
