Malaysia to Stop Using Sinovac

KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 (Reuters) - Malaysia's health ministry on Thursday said the country will stop administering the COVID-19 vaccine produced by China's Sinovac (SVA.O) once its supplies end, as it has a sufficient number of other vaccines for its programme.

Malaysia's inoculation drive will be largely anchored by the Pfizer-BioNTech (PFE.N), (22UAy.DE) mRNA vaccine moving forward, health minister Adham Baba told a news conference with other top ministry officials.

The Southeast Asian country has secured about 45 million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, enough to cover 70% of the population, compared to 16 million doses of Sinovac's shot, the officials said.

"About half of the 16 million have already been distributed, so the rest will be used to cover second doses," Adham said.

"For those who have yet to be vaccinated, they will receive the Pfizer vaccine."

The government had previously said it had secured 12 million Sinovac doses, as part of a deal which would see state-linked firm Pharmaniaga carrying out a fill-and-finish process on the vaccine for local distribution. read more

The announcement to stop using Sinovac's inactivated virus vaccine comes amid increasing concern over its efficacy against new and more contagious variants of the coronavirus.

Neighbouring Thailand this week said it would use the AstraZeneca (AZN.L) vaccine as a second dose for those who received the Sinovac shot, while Indonesia is considering a booster shot for those who received the two-dose Sinovac course. read more

Other vaccines approved in Malaysia include those of AstraZeneca, China's CanSino Biologic (6185.HK), and the Janssen vaccine of Johnson & Johnson (JNJ.N).

Malaysia also plans on Friday to announce its decision on whether to add the vaccine of China's Sinopharm (1099.HK), officials said.

With 880,782 cases and 6,613 deaths so far, Malaysia has one of Southeast Asia's highest per-capita infection rates, but also one of its highest inoculation rates, with about 26% of its 32 million population receiving at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

IE7 cannot input Chinese character..

Using WinXP SP2. Installed IE7 but places like google.com the place for you to input search criteria, I am unable to type chinese words. After holding alt+shift still come out english alphabet rather than pinyin and chinese character for you to choose.

This only happens to IE7 but other programmes ok.

Any solutions/suggestions kindly reply. Thanks!

Need help for svchost.exe error..

I always get an error msg from Dr Watson stating svchost.exe encounters error when I am online. After the error occurs, the internet traffic seems to be stopped and computer need to be restarted to resume the full functionality of OS (WIn XP Pro SP2).

I've checked for virus but it does not show any virus signal.

This is the first bill of my streamyx a/c. The bill shows the details as follows:-

So, it shows that the advance RM44 is for Jan 07 subscription. Does that mean once I paid Dec 06 bill, I can skip paying Jan 07 bill and only continue paying again in Feb 07?

If I only pay the activation fees of RM75 + Dec 07 subscription RM44 this time (ignoring the RM44 advance subscription fees), will I get into any kind of trouble?

Problem description: Anybody can tell me where to get the dialer ah? I tried XP dialer but cannot lo.. error 678.. normally I see people click saja terus connected wan.. and this modem always auto-connect to streamyx when I on power.. help me..

WinXP Logon Screen

Normally we ndo not have to click to logon to WinXp in the startup welcome screen.. however, I recently have to click it and enter password to logon.

I've tried:-

1. disabling password and reenabling
2. change the way user logon

but still no good. Please advise.

I just bought this Aztech DSL 600ER yesterday. The problem I found out is everytime I power on the modem, it auto-connect to streamyx. Please guide me on how to disable this. Thank you.
