Car battery

hi.. i wanna ask.. if i overcharging my battery.. will the battery spoilt easily?

i'm using dry battery and yesterday when i was checking up my car, i saw my battery went black ( means it needs to recharge ).. so i charged up until morning and i went there and check my battery life again.. it shows abit of green ( means it's fully charged ).. after i leave it for about 1 or 2 hr and went back to check again.. it shows black status until until now..

as for now.. is my battery already dead?
