A car horn beeps and the horror begins: a bloody murder and rampaging zombies. But this drive-in haunted house in Japan protects against the most terrifying enemy of all — the coronavirus.

Inside their cars, guests can scream as loudly as they like, with no mask required, as hideous creatures daubed in blood swarm toward them.

In fact, the new format might even be scarier than a traditional haunted house, according to producer Kenta Iwana, 25.

“At the drive-in haunted house, guests are confined in a car so they can’t escape the horror until the end,” he said. “It makes it even more scary for them.”

Iwana came up with the idea after struggling with a string of cancellations as the coronavirus pandemic took hold.

“It’s because a haunted house creates an environment with the ‘three Cs,'” he said, referring to the conditions that experts warn risk spreading the virus: closed spaces, crowded places and close-contact settings.

“Orders for conventional-style haunted houses were canceled one after another and we lost about 80 percent of our clients,” said Iwana, whose squad is usually hired to set up haunted house experiences at amusement parks and similar venues.

A normal experience might involve a windowless facility with actors playing ghosts quietly following visitors and whispering directly into their ears to scare them — all impossible in the age of COVID-19.

Iwana and his team, Kowagarasetai — roughly translating to “Scare Squad” — initially tried to create coronavirus-compatible performances by wearing masks painted with fake blood and playing recorded screams rather than unleashing real ones, but found that most of their events were canceled anyway.

“We’ve even had Halloween events scheduled for October and November canceled,” said Ayaka Imaide, 34, head of the squad.

Iwana, who quit university to become a ghost house producer, wondered if a drive-in format might work instead.

Ghost stories and haunted houses are popular forms of entertainment in Japan and are associated particularly with the summer, though the reasons for the link are unclear.

Iwana says he was told the tradition began when up-and-coming kabuki actors began performing ghost stories in the hot summer months, when star actors took time off.

Kota Hanegawa, 28, plays a blood-soaked killer in the squad, though he admits he is not a big fan of scary things.

He says the new format — with the actors outside accompanied by a soundtrack and narration playing inside the cars — has a few positives, particularly in terms of audience feedback.

“I can get very close to guests even though they’re behind the windshields,” said Hanegawa. “It’s interesting to see their reactions so close up, while keeping social distance.”

Imaide said she hoped the new format would help lift the mood of entertainers struggling during the pandemic.

“Maybe we should just not do anything and keep our heads down,” she said seriously, from underneath a full face of zombie makeup. “I don’t know what the right thing to do is. … But we want to continue offering a haunted house, even if it means we have to change the style a bit. We want many people to enjoy it, to enjoy being scared.”

Japan’s coronavirus state of emergency has already been lifted, and some amusement parks are slowly beginning to reopen, with restrictions on guests.

But the squad is moving ahead with its drive-in concept for now, and tickets for its first dates later this month at a Tokyo garage have already sold out.

Imaide hopes guests will feel comfortable letting loose and getting the full, horrifying experience.

“Let out all your fears. That’s the way to enjoy it,” she advised.

Man burying daughter finds newborn alive in grave

LUCKNOW, India: A man digging a grave in northern India found a newborn girl buried alive, police said Monday, in the latest case to shine a spotlight on female infanticide in the country.

Hitesh Sirohi had gone to bury his own daughter, who died a few minutes after birth on Wednesday, when his spade hit an earthen pot, local police in Uttar Pradesh state told AFP.

“When he noticed a newborn girl inside it, he immediately rescued her and dialled... for help.”

Sirohi told the Times of India he found the baby wrapped in a cloth and crying.

“At one point I thought that my daughter had come alive. But the voice was actually coming from the pot,” he told the newspaper.

The newborn was taken to hospital where she is receiving medical care, police said, adding that a local politician was paying for her expenses.

India has long struggled with female infanticide, which has become widespread because of parents’ preferences for sons – who are viewed as investments and heirs – while girls are seen as a liability.

India is trying to bridge the sex ratio gap with tough laws, as the country fares badly with 940 females for every 1,000 males according to the 2011 census.

Prenatal sex determination was outlawed in 1994 but families’ still use illegal methods or devices to discover the gender and terminate pregnancies for unwanted female offspring.

A 2011 study in the British medical journal The Lancet found that up to 12 million girls had been aborted in the last three decades in India.

In January, a three-week old baby girl was found buried alive in Rajasthan state after locals heard her crying from a shallow grave, but died after a few weeks at a hospital.

In 2017, police in western Maharashtra state recovered 19 female foetuses from a sewer near a clinic.

A doctor was arrested and charged with illegally aborting female foetuses for parents desperate for a boy.--AFP

It's all about stylish and flashy combat. There are two 'flashy' actions known a the moment, Hunting maneuvers and Hunting styles. From what I've read maneuvers are basically special moves that you can use to aid you in battle, ranging from buffs, heals and of course damage. As for the hunting styles, I'm not so sure. Problems with my monitor

The problem starts with some.. well pixels I guess. I don't know how to explain it very well but the pixels on the top left of my monitor is not very stable? I can them cascading down faintly. I tried changing my cables, still happens.

After a while, this happens v as you can see from the pictures in the spoiler. The address bar for chrome showing through Dota 2 and desktop(light background).

Start up problem

Hello. My pc is having a problem. Here's the sequence of the problem :

1- When I press the power button, the start up light for about 2 second before it turn itself off.
2- Sometime after the first time it restarted itself the pc boots up. But this morning I found out pc only seems to power up (theres light, dvd drive runs, fans, cpu fans, gpu fans runs) but theres no signal to monitor, kb or mouse.
3- It stays 'turn on' but after a while it restart itself again.

Before this theres hiccups when i power up my pc, but it can always go to window and function properly. Only today theres absolutely nothing on monitor and it kept restarting.. so yeah

Muscle/Fitness for

Hello

Well.. I really don't know how I should start.. So I'll just go straight to the point.. I want to build some muscles.. biceps,tricep,stomach, gluteus maximus(jk).. But.. my main problem and concern is.. I have Marfan syndrome.. which is Marfan

In summary.. I have few conditions, which includes my heart(prolapse valve), pigeon chest and skeletal system (weak joints)...

So.. I just want to ask.. is it possible for me to have some muscles on me.. as I have condition with my heart will supplement have negative side effect, I can't run for a long time.. and since I have weak joints.. I can't really do heavy lifting

I hope someone can advise me on the issues I'm having.. or someone with same problem.. The main reason I want to do this is because.. well people tease me and I kinda lost my self esteem.. hoping I can gain some self respect.. Might be a tall order...
