Galaxy Note ICS QUestion

Hi All The Sifus out there! I'm new to this so pls bear with me. I just bought an AP Galaxy Note and only to realize that when I did the OTA and Kies, there is not update to ICS prompted :-(
I read the guides on the forum to see if I can do the update myself but not sure if I can just the Malaysia ICS version. Will this work? What else do I need? Odin?

I just checked my phone and it says N7000XXLB1 (2.3.6) as the version. I don't know where is this phone from. Its new.
Sorry if my above question has been asked many times before but i just hope someone would be kind enough to explain how this is done as I'm new to Android. Very eager to upgrade to ICS. I'm afraid of screwing up the phone.

Appreciate all the help I can get as I'm really a beginner in this area. Many thanks in advance. If there is someone that is willing to do this for me, I don't mind paying. Sorry but really desperate here. Please help!
