Customize Drain Cover

Recently my drain cover in front of my car porch had broken apart as my contractor previously built it using my leftover tiles. May I know where can I customize new drain cover in Klang Valley area? I think I will prefer steel drain cover now instead of tiles as it should be more durable. Just afraid of people stealing the steel though for selling.

Any suggestion?

PETALING JAYA: Passengers flying out of Malaysia are set to face another burden as they will have to pay about RM35 once the government introduces the Advance Passenger Screening System (APSS).[SIZE=8]

A source said the government may have to fork out close to RM8 billion over a period of 15 years to an outsourced private company involved in setting up the system.

"The plan is to have the company develop the hardware and software for the APSS and that passengers bear the cost.

"This plan makes no real sense as there are readily-available systems in the world, like the system being used in Australia, which only costs about A$80 million (RM250 million)."

The source said it is important that the company engaged is well-versed in the job, adding that as a prerequisite, companies involved in the exercise must have related experience.

The source pointed out the screening system is aimed at protecting the country from undesirable elements such as terrorists and it is, therefore, a national security issue.

The costs for such systems linked to security is usually borne by the government, but some may charge a nominal fee of US$1 (RM4), the source added.

"But this is not the case here, as airline passengers are being forced to pay for the security system."

There is also the question of which party would collect the fee, as airport tax goes to Malaysia Airports Berhad and a RM1 levy is channelled to the Malaysian Aviation Commission.

The system will allow the Immigration Department to identify risks posed by passengers flying into the country as passenger information will be provided by the airlines.

"They will be able to check whether a passenger is on the international terror watch-list, and deny entry to such individuals."

Such systems are already being widely used internationally and provides authorities with adequate time to determine the status of a passenger.

For example, when a flight leaves Tokyo, the authorities here will have about seven hours to check the background of the passengers on the flight.

KL International Miss Airport

SEPANG: It was a happy Sunday for Miss Uganda Sheila Kirabo, who was crowned as the first Miss Joyful KLIA.

This is a newly introduced subsidiary title of Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International World.

Kirabo, who will be the face to represent KLIA, said:

“Just as music is the soul to the body, a smile is the tonic to the face.”

“Smile and you’ll become younger,” said the self-described “happy person”, adding that having a positive attitude is a great way to live life.

“Everyone wants to have a happy person in his or her presence,” she said.

The 23-year-old interior and fashion design student said that she was stunned when her name was called out by pageant host, Malaysian TV personality Hansen Lee.

“The win was so much of a shock to me. I didn’t expect it,” she said, adding that she was overjoyed to be chosen among the 57 “beautiful women” in the competition.

She said that she wanted to project the spirit of joyfulness during her tenure as Miss Joyful KLIA.

Kirabo, who lives in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, will be in Malaysia until the finale of Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International World on Thursday.

She said that she enjoyed Malaysian food so far although it could be “a tad too spicy” for her.

“My favourite is teh tarik,” she added.

The Ugandan beauty will be working with Malaysia Airports in tourism promotions for KLIA and Malaysia in general.

Malaysia Airports general manager of corporate communications Nik Anis Nik Zakaria said that Kirabo was a favourite with the judges due to her global outlook.

“She has a very international view of airports.

“One of the things she said that attracted us was when she said that the airport should be the centre of culture, where cultures converge and where diversities in cultures are represented,” Nik Anis told The Star.

“We would like to create a joyful personality who is in line with KLIA’s mission which is to provide a joyful experience to passengers,” she added.

Kirabo was crowned by Malaysia Airports board director Jeremy Nasrulhaq, who was also one of the judges for the pageant.

Other judges were Nik Anis, The Star fashion editor Dzireena Mahadzir and Tourism Malaysia north and west Asia director Aznan Sulaiman.

Sponsors of the clothes and accessories for the 57 participants for the pageant were Kashka, Khazanah, and Eraman.

Hello to all the sifus out there. I need your help!

My desktop specifications are listed in my signatures below. I am currently listening my music and watching movie from a headphone plugging directly into the back of my CPU (the green port). I found that the sound coming out from my headphone is very soft although I have set everything to the max volume. I had also tried out my headphone into another computer and it works fine. I wonder what is the problem with the sound system in my CPU? Previously I have a speaker attached to the CPU but it breaks down and sent for warranty. When my headphone attached to the speaker the sounds is loud enough though. I'm curious why when I plug my headphone directly without using speaker I will have softer sound. It is something got to do with my computer sound card?

Extreme strategy game

Guys, anyone can suggest me any extreme strategy games which make you crack your brain to put your strategy into motion and has great re-playability value?
My googled results show Civ series (should I wait for civ 5 or play civ 4 first?), Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron and total war series. Obviously I don't have money to buy all of them so I want one which can last me perhaps until the 2011 Chinese new year when I get more budget for new game.

Why people want become PM?

sometimes it beats me why so many people want to become PM or join politic

so when you become a PM, you will have

1 less sleep since I think avg PM only have 3-4 hours to sleep
2 less holiday since anything happen you need to be in country or kena shot
3 less personal time since you need to rush to so many places to woo vote
4 less money cause CEO can earn much more than you and when you have more money they will accuse you rasuah
5 less amoi cause you don't want to end up in sex scandal
6 less private cause even if you korek hidung people will say bad example
7 less health cause you everyday need to work, not enough sleep and always tension to lose the next election
