Need help - Best affordable Router for Time

Dear Friends,

I am quite stupid when it comes to routers, so I have come here for your help.

Currently using 100mbps service from Time and planning/thinking of upgrading to 300mpbs (tambah rm40/month nia). However, the current router they provided me sucks - keeps dropping off connections and needs rebooting to get back the speeds. I also think that the signal strength of the router is not particularly strong as the users in the rooms (live in a flat) complain of poor speeds and frequent dropped connections.

Can someone please be kind enough to suggest me a good (and not expensive) router to replace the current one, preferably a unit that doesn't require a degree in networking to configure.

Thanks.

Arowana Venture - anyone investing in this?

Hi folks,

I bumped into this company which has a showroom in Viva Home recently, and from what they pitched, seems like a good investment. I must admit I know nuts about arowana so I am hoping I can get some understanding here before I decide what to do.

Thank you.

Vizio TVs - who is selling in West Malaysia?

Came across this very low price (back-lit) LED TVs branded as Vizio, supposedly the cheapest large displays selling in the US at USD888 for 60" and USD1.6K for 70", both FHD but no 3D.

Does anyone here know if these TVs are available here in KL/PJ? The possibility of replacing my old 50" non-FHD plasma with a 70-incher is making me drool.

htkaki,
Do you carry such these products?

Cheap GC HD5450 for 1080p, can?

Guys,

Please pardon me, if the question is stupid, but help me out here if you don't mind. This is more related to a HTPC of some sort. I want to stick a suitable cheap GC into my desktop so that I can watch (up to) 1080p movies, mainly in MKV format, so wondering if the cheap (RM100+) GC such as the HD5450, running something like the KM Player or VLC will be able to cope with it. My current CPU is an old Pentium Dual Core E5700. Is it even possible to handle natively ripped BD files?

Thanks.

Best value-for-money laptop for RM2k please

Can you please help me. I am looking for a laptop for my daughter who is starting her studies in a local college soon. Traditionally, Acer has always been good with value-for-money laptops, but I am not sure it is still true today. Doesn't matter if it is AMD or Intel, just want a laptop with best value-for-money at my humble budget please.

Thanks for your help.
Recording HD contents in Astro

Not sure if this has been discussed before, so I thought I'd start a new thread on this. Can anyone please share with me how best to record these HD channels? I know there is a ACRyan recorder (don't have one, just the POHD) and wonder if such recorders can record HD contents.

Btw, the 1080i signals are easily processed/deinterlaced by my low-end Panny 50" plasma (768p) - don't see any zaggies or motion stutter at all. I am pleased indeed.

Guys,
Need your input please. One is around RM380, the other is about RM850, both without hard-disk (I am planning to stick in a 1TB drive). Can either or both play ripped BD files? Why should I pay nearly 500 more over the other?
HELP! Any technicians in PJ/KL to recommend?

Listen guys, I really could use some help here. Got a wireless Sennheiser RS140 headset (import from US), plugged in and realised that our voltage here is 220-240 but the American standard is 110v. As a result, no nothing. Don't know if the adaptor is kaput'd and/or the transmitter is also gone. But no smell of anything toasted, so hopeful that it's just the adaptor. Anyway, bought an adaptor of similar output (70v 200mah) but the head (the round plug thing) cannot masuk the transmitter, so gotta use the original head/roundplug, but don't know which is +ve and which is -ve.

Can someone recommend me a shop or person to take the stuff for quick check. PLEASE. Thank you.

Barry
012-2040983

[addedon]March 12, 2008, 2:58 pm[/addedon]Bump. Anyone?

Guys,

Don't know if this is the way of doing, but I am hoping there will be someone here who likes and has a collection of the above. Looking for his 'White Christmas' album, and his greatest hits collection, preferably in original analogue format. Recently, I got one but it was a direct transfer from phono and it was full of 'pops' (really hate it). By any chance if you happen to have and willing to let me copy, please pm me. Thank you.
