SQL SPID issue

Hello all, recently the SQL blocking issue is really making me a big headache, hope any SQL master here can help me on this:

refer to the above image:
SPID 51 was doing insert statement
SPID 60 was doing update statement

I have no ideas how come SPID 60 can out of sudden execute the insert statement which suppose to be execute by SPID 51

What I notice from the trace is that each SPID will have Audit Login, RPC Completed, Audit Logout. But SPID 51 just missing the Audit Logout.

If I run the sp_who2, it will show SPID 60 is blocked by SPID 51
If I run report from SSMS, it shows SPID 51 isolation "Unknown"

I wonder how can this happen? Could network issue causing this? Please help me, thank you.

MSSQL update running number issue in VB.NET

Hi all sifu / master, may I know what is the best practice for updating a running number such as invoice number or product number, for example:

I have one datagridview, current running number is 111, 1st user insert 10 records in it and at the same time 2nd user also insert 10 records,
when 1st user click save, the 10 records will have 111,112....,120 and the running number will be update to 120 after the transaction is committed.

My question is how if the 1st user and 2nd user click save at the same time? How should I lock the running number row to prevent 2nd user to selecting it and
only release it after the 1st user has complete the transaction? What is the best practice for the case like this? Thank you
