[WTA]-MBP HDD with eSATA/USB3.0

Hey guys,

Not sure if this topic has been discussed before. I know i should thoroughly search through the forum before posting up a new topic, but i'm a bit short on time here. So sorry.

Anyway, here's the deal. I recently purchased a 15" MBP and am currently seeking out an external hard drive. i've realized that in terms of transfer rate on a MBP, firewire800 interface is the fastest available since the MBP has a firewire port. But there're faster interfaces out there in the market today which are eSATA and USB3.0.

Firstly, eSATA.
-I am well aware that a MBP does not have a SATA port. But i am wondering if it is possible to introduce one via an adapter thru the SD card slot.
-Would something like this work?

Secondly, USB 3.0.
-Rite now USB2.0 is available on the MBP. But i stumbled upon this type of hard drive offered by seagate called GoFlex and one option is an adapter which plugs into the express card slot. linked hereSeagate goFlex

-I'm pretty confused as to if the MBP even has an express card slot or is it just an SD card reader now.

Any help is much welcomed.
Thanks in advance and sorry again if the questions im asking are silly in any way. it's my first mac.

Manfrotto Umbrella Adapter

Hey, i purchased the manfrotto umbrella adapter in kl yesterday. Got it for RM120 or so..

The thing is, this piece of metal with the hole in it;

The screw doesn't screw through the hole when i try to attach it to the main adapter;
It just doesn't align. The hole is big enough for the screw but the metal piece can't fit down far enough for the hole and the screw to align up.

Did i get a defected product or are all the adapters like this?
and if so, why put the hole there in the first place?

Please help me. Let me know if i've installed it wrongly. Be kind pls, the thing didnt even come with instructions.
