3G USB Modem

I bought a USB modem and used it for just 10 months. It's not working, being sent back for checking and it's take 2 months to check.

Recently received the replacement of NEW modem (but not look like new) via normal post RM0.40 without wrapping.
I want to make sure whether it's work, so I plug into my laptop like normal plugging a USB port.
The modem no light and no pop-up from my laptop to guide me install the software.

Resend back to the supplier, and they informed me due to I plug the modem not correctly cause to the modem is already overburn by electricity. Before that, they did not mentioned about this to me. Now, they said it can't be replaced due to this reason.

Please advice me whether there is such reason from the supplier or maybe during they sent back to me via normal post the modem already not in function.

Recently my 4 months old baby having runny nose for 3 days. Any suggestion to help me to reduce the sneezing for him? He can't sleep well at night, always cry in the mid night.
