Which is the best thermal compound for laptops?

I have been thinking to change the thermal compound in my laptop, was wondering which ones are the best? Or all of them are similar??

I see some China brands one, and there's Artic Silver 5, IC Diamond, OCZ Freeze and all have different price tags...

Was wondering which one should I choose?

P.S. Does it void the warranty? I googled and most ppl said No but just to clarify it here...

HP Dv6 overheating

Ok, my housemate is using this HP Dv6 Quad Core i7 model with the HD5650... Somehow it's really hot and he's been telling me my laptop is much cooler than his... So I tried to touch the part near the ventillation hole there and it kinda burnt me.... Then I asked him to download HW Monitor to check the temperatures... To my SURPRISE, it was as high as 94 C for everything!! I wonder how he played his COD Black OPS at such temperature without burning the lappie... I was freaking shock and told him this is not normal without much load... But he said when he bought it, it was already quite hot and he sent to the shop and ask, the ppl in the shop said he 'checked' and said that i7 is supposed to be like that....

I know i7 is supposed to be hotter but this is just too much! Is there any solution to this or any Dv6 known to have overheating issues?

anyone check out the new 11 inch Macbook Air??

Weighing at merely 1.06kg, bundled with Core 2 Duo and Geforce 320M, having 5 hours of battery life and up to 30 days standby time..... Is this the new netbook killer?

Haha, comes with a hefty price as well though...

Disappointed at Steve coz he said he wouldn't produce a netbook, this thing is exactly like a netbook ><....

DVI-D and VGA

I am currently plugging my A42Jv lappie to an external FullHD monitor which has both DVI-D and and VGA port...

Currently, I am using the stock VGA-VGA cable and viewing at 1080P resolution.

So my question is, is there any noticeable difference if I get a DVI-HDMI cable to plug into my laptop??

What I understand is the difference between DVI and VGA are DVI being digital and VGA being analog, but I have done a bit of research over the internet and still can't find a proper answer to it.

Some say it's the same but some say it's better... I hope some knowledgeable sifus out there can enlighten me!

My old laptop is Asus W7S with 8400M GS chipset.... It has broke down many months ago cause I was unable to loads windows at all due to the overheating of GPU.. Sometimes under some consequence I am able to load windows.. But that's like once in a bluemoon, I have then decided to try installing Ubuntu Linux on it.. And undervolted the CPU for a bit.... It worked for a night but now can't start the laptop again...

Anyone with the same 8000M GPU has a solution to their laptops? My warranty has long ago finished so can't do anything about it at all..

There's 1 thing bothering me whenever I go LYP...

How come often the sellers I meet in LYP also dun have much knowledge on the products they selling one???

I was thinking with the amount of pro ppl towards electronics in this forum, LYP sellers should be quite pro as well...

Example, yesterday I went to have a walk around LYP... A fren of mine thinking of getting a high speed sd card so I was explaining to him class 4 is the slowest one and bla bla and told him got faster ones but more expensive...
So I was asking whether faster SD cards like the ones by San Disk... He was like so blurrr and like not sure what is that.... The Sandisk ones was just beside him only then I pointed and ask is it those? Then his expression was like 'er, I guess so'... (P.S. It wasn't any no-name shop and is quite a famous one)

Why ar? Everytime I wanna shop something there I was hoping to get advices and recommendations towards the products I wanna get but it seems that a lot of them dunno their own stuffs...
I have had similar experiences myself but that was regarding earphones which I am not concerned lar cause there's not much audiophiles either...

Please dun flame pls, I am taking this seriously and this is my own opinion

Personally, I think that everyone is a RACIST including myself.... It's just a matter of the LEVEL of the racism everyone has in them....

I do HATE strong racism but I think that mild racism is still acceptable... There's a lot of racism in our lifes which we don't realise ourselves...

The best example is Russell Peters, he makes fun of indians and chinese in his jokes everytime, that's a form of mild racism but ppl can take this as a joke becoz it's really true the way he described them...

For example I give a simple analogy.. let's say u have a fren who just made a new bf, so u ask 'where's ur bf from??', then ur fren say 'Oh, he's from South Africa!'... I bet 90% of you would be like 'WHAT!? He's Black!??!' If you think like that, that's definitely considered a form a Racism already...

Racism up to an appropriate level is still ok and makes the world goes round... Serious ones are Cases like the principal, which is totally unacceptable to me...

I have been thinking to open a food blog since weeks ago until I saw that topic it reminded me I can ask about it in /k/..

Now my question is, which are the blogging websites that are recommended and easy to use?? Cause I am newbie in blogging...

And I see a lot of ppl having blogs that are customly named by themselves, does those websites require money?

So far, I only know of blogspot.com and wordpress.com... Wondering if any experienced users can tell me the difference between them and the usability? Any other blogging websites suggested?

It's so obvious theirs is fake Type R at a glance....

I am talking about those scammers/cheaters lurking at the escalators of Bukit Bintang and Jalan Imbi Monorail stations...

It's so obvious what they're doing there are illegal, why don't anyone come and catch them or chase them away...

Seriously it's so annoying.. Personally, there was once I wasn't careful enough myself and was stopped by 1 of them, cause he was like saying come and sign this thing for charity, need signatures to get points bla bla bla... So I was like in a good mood so went ahead and sign that thing for him... So he was like starting a convo with me asking where am I from... Then he was like insisting he's from the same hometown as me n telling me he hasn't gone back for a while... I was like WTF is this guy stupid, cause his mandarin sounded nothing like mine and I knew his accent... That's when I realise there's something wrong.. So convo continue for a bit then he asked me buy a stupid Doll and tell me to donate money... Man I was like telling him I dun have money and he asked me to go ATM get wtf... In the end, I just said I was rushing home so I just left him... I felt so stupid for stopping seriously...

That's not all, 2 weeks later my fren had a similar incident, a guy was telling him to scratch a card for free and he might win something (i would definitely not stop for this), but my fren did.... so he scratched n 'won' a car LOL.. So the guy was like acting excited and telling my fren he's the 1st one he saw winning something, and asked my fren his phone to call his boss telling him someone had won, my fren is so stupid lend him the phone and call ><.. so after calling, the guy asked my fren to go some place to claim his prize, then my fren only realise smth wrong, he handed the card back to the scammer saying 'why dun i give u the car instead?', gave back the card n left.... few seconds later, he heard swearing from behind LOL...

What I want to imply is that something ought to be done against these ppl.... Some ppl who ain't bright enough might just get cheated off by them...
