New CX-30 vs Used / Recon 2016 Mini Clubman

Hi guys,

Seeking steer for a 3rd car. Comparing a new japanese mazda cx30 against used mini clubman perhaps clubman S. Car will be used to drive into KL city center alternating with my reliable myvi. On weekends want to carry bicycle. I wonder if the clubman will bring the british out me and provide more character and fun. I have owned a british bike in the past which is a triumph street triple. Indeed everytime that 3 cyclinder growls, it was as if she was talking to me. I named her Ilsa by the way.

At the same time i appreciate the higher seating position of an SUV as 80% of the time is leisure driving while 20% want to whack corner etc. I dont like too low of a seating position like in civic.

I have never also owned a recon car and worry getting a lemon.

Thanks lads for ur advice.

Selling car with engine changed

Hi guys,

I have a 2013 car which in 2016 it unfortunately encountered flash flood. Long story short the engine was changed and puspakom approval obtained in 2016. Afterwards car still serve me fine until today. Of course not perfect but still ok to drive from KL to kuala terengganu. I plan to trade in the car to new car and the salesperson will try to get a used car dealer to evaluate it. Will there be any issue trading this kind of car? Wondering anyone with similar experience.

Many thanks.

Question on House Cracks

Hi guys,

Im wondering if any of u guys ever experienced cracks as per photos provided? Picture taken from second floor intermediate double storey house. The horizontal / vertical cracks seems to form near the edges where the beams meet?

Tenant informed that there was potentially a underground pipe leak previously and it has been fixed with new piping. Is this something to be concerned structurally? Safe for family to live in?

Is is just a resettlement of the soil effect due to the leak?

Many thanks for your insight.

Redo the house water piping

Hi guys, i suspect i have a leak somewhere in my house. Ive went to the roof and checked the water tangki but it seems the float is doing fine and no sign of leak at the roof. I suspect i might have underground leak from main pipe towards the house.

How much is rough cost to redo whole piping for a terrace house? One plumber quoted me around rm 2.5K. Appreciate advice and any tips. He mentioned that i can bring the main pipe up to roof first and from roof have another pipe for ground floor kitchen and toilet.

Engine block cracked. Transplant engine civic 2013

Hi guys, about a month ago my car was driven into a flash flood and engine stalled. Long story short we have no special peril coverage and engine block cracked. This is after changing all fluids and replacing alternator, water pump and srs module. Car was driven fine after this fix and i test drove it up to 120 km/h. The day before the engine block cracked it was raining heavy. I suspect its the rapid cooling of the hot running engine during flashlflood that cause the eventual crack on this aluminum engine.

Anyways, its history. Any advise from forumers on what are the things to look out when replacing the engine with halfcut engine? The workshop said they can find halfcut engine in good condition around rm6500 or so. Is this price reasonable?

Lexus CT200h Question

Hi guys,

I have a Malaysian friend who bought Lexus CT200h in Singapore. He worked there for a couple of years and he moved back to Malaysia recently together with the car. He went to Mutiara Damansara Lexus service center to service the car but Lexus Malaysia said it is Lexus Malaysia policy that they cannot service the car since it was bought outside Malaysia. Anybody faced similar problem like him?

Also for CT200h owners is there any service center outside that can service this hybrid car? What kind of service did they perform for the hybrid cars other than the oil change? Thanks guys. Really appreciate if anybody can help.

Hi guys, I have misplaced the fuse for my Pioneer AMP VSX-819H power socket. I am not sure what fuse rating that I should use for the power socket. Below are the pictures. Will a 13 A fuse work with this power socket? There is a writing of 10/250 on one of the circles. Appreciate your help with this.

The last picture is the 13A fuse which I bought at Ace hardware.
