Downgrade from windows 7 to windows xp

Hi, my friend got a new notebook with windows 7. He found that some of the important program can not run in windows 7. Thus he is thinking to downgrade it to windows xp.

May I know is there any hardware compatibility issue for this downgrade? Any disadvantage if he perform this downgrade?

Is windows 7 capable hardware will be compatible with windows xp?

I'm trying to watch movie using TV from my cpu.

I have bought a VGA to S-video / RCA converter and connect my cpu to TV using the RCA ports.

However, the TV screen didn't display anything from the cpu.

Do you know where is the problem?

Will it solve my problem if I connect my cpu and tv using s-video port? (cause I do not have the s-video connecter now, will get one later)

I'm still considering whether to get a netbook or notebook.
Actually Dell™ Inspiron™ Mini 12 meets most of my needs except its 3-cell Primary Battery (6-cell preferred) & it does not have a optical drive.

I understand that it is difficult have optical drive built-in in netbook as of the size limitation.

Is there any other brand of netbook equiped with optical drive?

How long a 3-cell battery can last? A 6-cell battery cost RM400++ from dell site, in that case, i can get a notebook which solve all my worries...
