[SOLD] Vsonic VSD3s

Critically acclaimed by audiophiles, the Vsonic VSD3S achieves sound signatures comparative to triple Balanced Armatures with only a dynamic driver. Meticulous tuning ensures smooth highs, rich vocals and clean bass .

Pick one up to see what the hype is about.

SOLD

Features:
- Detachable cables (that's right)
- Over the ear design to minimize cable noise
- Shure 535/Westone 3 like sound quality.

"If it's so good, why are you selling it" you might ask. I am already using a Westone UM3X and a Westone W4r... so makes no sense for me to retain another pair which has similar (dare I say) sound quality.

Video Review:

Hi Guys, I have been using an Intel i3-2120 since mid of 2012 but i just realized this.

Being my main gaming rig, I use it mainly for nothing but gaming and web surfing which serves me well.

But I noticed that if I were to multitask, it really struggles to cope. for example:
- iTunes + Photoshop/video editing + multiple tabs on browser = Music will cut off when I render my image
- WebBrowser + iTunes + performing basic Vlookup on a 10mb excel file = Takes a very long time (probably 3 minutes) to complete

On all occasions I pulled up performance monitor and I see all cores at 100%.
You may have noticed that I have iTunes running, and yes I definitely cannot live without my music

Is it that i3 is incapable of handling (simple) multitasking or its something I'm not setting up correctly.

My PC Specs are
- i3-2120 (stock)
- Gigabyte something motherboard
- 8gb (2x4gb) memory
- ATI 7950 Video card
- 256gb Sandisk SSD.

I have been assigned to help my friend with his pre-wedding photo next week and I am kind of in a fix because:
1. I do not take portrait photography..or more like nor my forte
2. I do not know any good locations in Penang (although I grew up there. Ironic isn't it)

I would appreciate it if you guys could share with me some nice locations other than what I can think of.
On top of my mind are a few spots like Beach Street/Heritage enclave/Spice Garden/Botanical Garden/Straits Quay Boardwalk.

I would very much like to go to a nearby paddy field to grab some photos but not sure how to go about. Whom do I need to ask permission from?

And tips on locations that I should be aware of?

IMPROVE comfort suspension

Recently I changed my springs to Eibach and found that my front absorbers are as dead as a guy with Erectile dysfuction. So i was recommended to try a set of Improve Comfort aobsorbers by the shop. Apparently it is as comfortable as the original and more robust than any locally made KYB.

So I tried. And found out that it was so stiff. Im not sure if it is the absorbers causing the stiffness or the Eibach Springs. The rear is still fine (using Tokico absorber), but the front is just rock solid.

Anyone can comment whether it is my Spring's cause or the Absorbers cause, or partially both.
Since Eibach springs is supposed to "maintain OEM comfort"

I've got myself a pair of Razer Tiamat 7.1

I am going to give you my thoughts after using this for a good 2 years.
The Good:
+ True 5.1 Surround.
+ Sounds good for both music and games. Details are crisp.
+ Desk remote is very handy to adjust on the fly
+ Deep Earcups provides good comfort and wont heat up your ears

The Bad:
- Some tweaking needed out of the box. A little adjustment on the Equalizer would bring out the true potential.
- A tad bit heavy for prolonged hours.

Condition of the product is 9/10. A little wear off the coating but other than that, everything is spot on. Pictures will follow at the bottom.

Here's the deal.
SOLD

Warranty : DOA (but assured to be in working condition).

Pictures

Sorry for the dust.
New PC freezes when left Idle

Hi Mates.

I recently built a new PC a week ago. All is well until I leave it idle. It will freeze when I try to resume (by moving/clicking the mouse or keyboard). The monitor wouldn't wake up (orange stanby light) and nothing responds. Although I noticed that the HDD light on the casing is blinking. I have to do a manual restart everytime that happens. Its frustrating. It will freeze randomly. could be 1 hour could be 20mins, could never freeze.

But when I am gaming/using the PC, it never freezes. Its an idle problem. Could it be some software is causing this?

Here are my PC specs
Intel i3-2120
GA-H77M-D3H
1TB WD blue HDD
8gb (2x4gb) Corsair Vengeance
Sapphire 2gb Radeon 7850
Antec 650w PSU

Peripherals attached are Mouse/keyboard/and a USB powered headset.

Software that I am running in my PC
Windows 7 Pro 64bit
AVG free antivirus
Open Office / VLC / iTunes / Steam / Bitcomet (will only start it when I need)

Mic/volume control attachment?

Hi guys,

Im wondering if there is an attachment for volume/mic control without going through an external DAC?
Im using a pair of Razer Electra's and it has a mic built into the wire. but with no volume/mic mute option. All control needs to be dont on the MP3 player or PC console which is a hassle as I want to have the flexibility in controlling the volume and mute the mic when I can.

Can I get an attachment that allows me to control the volume and mic level/mute?

So it would be something like ELECTRA ---> Control unit ---> PC (or ipod)

I went to a few stores here (in SG) and they have no idea.

Hi Guys,

just want your feedback on the topic above. Im wondering what are the difference in:
1. Sound card simulated surround - I.e: Xonar/x-fi
2. Headphone simulated surround - Razer Megalodon/Logitech G35

DO they sound the same? I have used a pair of megalodon's and the surround do sound decent in games. Can sound card simulated surround have such effect using a conventional pair of headphones? (say a pair of sennheiser or etc)

Car jerks when releasing accelerator

Im experiencing some car jerking when I release my accelerator when I am in 1,2 and 3rd.
I know its normal for manual cars to jerk when you're abruptly coming off the accelerator, but it's gotten noticeably worse over the past few years. Its that feeling where you build up your engine speed, and the engine is pulling you back when you get off the gas.

What could be the cause for the jerks that are getting worse?

I have changed my clutch assembly, engine mountings, and other periodical maintenance.
Hi mates.

I'm using a Radeon 1gb Radeon 4870 paired with a Xigmatek Bifrost cooler.
Last 2 weeks the fan on the cooler started making scratchy sound (presumably from worn bearing) which led me to DIY my own fan on the cooler.

At first I fixed a 120mm Silent fan (about 60cfm according to the box), let it run and got a recorded temperature of about 49 on idle and 58 on load.
So results looked good. I proceeded to buy another 120mm fan of the same spec and hooked 2 together. after a while I took the temperature. Idle was at 48 and load was 58.

I'm baffled. I thought 2 fans are better but obviously not in this case. could it be that the lowest temperature the cooler can offer is 48? Since single and dual fan config yields about the same reading.

Energy Efficient PC

My dad's PC at home is kinda dated and the AGP card (Yes! AGP) is busted.
So instead of replacing an AGP card, I was thinking of getting a barebone for him thats newer, more efficient, and can serve as my torrent box

I am looking along the lines of Energy Efficiency (<100w on load)
So my plan is to go with Mini-ITX. With built in everything.

The problem is I know nuts about mini-ITX. Can you guys please guide me?
My budget is limited. Would be comfortable if its about 600-700?

I need:
- Processor
- Board
- Casing (can I get those that utilizes a power adapter instead of conventional PSU)
- SATA HDD (Maybe 320gb would be enough)

Since HDD is rediculously expensive now, i might get it in the coming months once things stabilize.

Powering a car HU and speakers for Home use

Guys I've got an antique radio-cum-turntable at home and it is busted. So I am thinking of keeping the shell, and changing the guts of it to a car audio setup. The setup I thought of is very simple. Just a HU connected to a pair of 6x9 speakers.

However my concerns are

1. How to power the HU? go through a AC/DC converter?
2. Will my HU setting (station/presets) be erased every time i switch off the power? (since there's no battery)
3. How can I attach an Antennae to the HU?
4. Can the HU play CD if its mounted at 45 degree angle? (this is the angle of the faceplate that I intend to use)

Feedbacks would be very much appreciated.

Oil inside

Sifu's sifu's sekalian.

While I was doing a routine check on my car, I found out 2 concern
1 - The rim around the spark plug housing has some engine oil around it. Only the 2nd cylinder tho. What can be the problem? top gasket leaking?
2 - And about the valve in the middle of the engine, I encountered oily/greasy stains on it (never before seen). do I need to replace that valve?

Sorry if the picture looks a bit clean, I stupidly cleaned the area and then snapped the picture

Notchy Transmission shifts

I changed my transmission fluid last 2 days and found out that the gear shift is very notchy.
mainly shifting to 2nd and 3rd gear. It feels tight (as if I have to use a bit of force to push it in) and most of the time it will give a bit of "kruk" sound. As though the synchro is not properly aligned.

However If I double clutch it, it goes in smoothly (at least smoother).
Could it be that the gear oil is not suitable or good enough?
The dude gave me a 80w-90w transmission oil. Im not sure what brand is it. its not synthetic for sure.

To add. My car is a Corolla AE101. stock with no short shifter/lightened fly wheel/etc installed.
