My HIS Ice-Q 3 X1900 GT which I bought three years ago have some problem. I would like to ask whether I got any solution for it or it just toast.

The problem happens ever since I use the stock cooler. When I play games for 2-3 hours the graphics rendered will start tearing. I've done some research on this some say it is cause by overheating vram. When my stock ICE-Q cooler start making noise ( common Ice-Q problem ) I've changed the stock cooler to Zalman VF 900-Cu gpu cooler. Overall the gpu temp drop quite good but still the problem of tearing artifact is still there. At first it only appear when I play for long hours but now the tearing happen just after a min or two.

I've checked the vram heatsink that I applied when applying the Zalman's gpu cooler and i believe I do it as proper as possible. What is weird is if I play game that can be executed in dual or more instances the later instance will have no graphics tearing at all. If anyone of you playing Ragnarok Online might get the idea. You can dual login in RO. First i run the game.. tearing occured. Then I run another instance of the game using different login.. the second instances just fine like no prob at all.. Hope can understand what I'm trying to explain.

I believe some of the vram in the GC has permanant damage due to high temperature in my casing. That might explain the RO case I guess....
Normal usage is fine that is why I consider this card as semi faulty.

Would like to ask if in any way I can repair this problem or it is just a waste

My rig during this problem was a Pentium D 930 3.0 Ghz and Asus P5WD2-E premium with Corsair gaming RAM.
