Anybody (or someone you know) wants to learn Microsoft Excel (beginner to advance and beyond)? Learn virtually anything from me flexibly at very reasonable rates. RM35 per effective hrs (meaning no fluff - I won't charge for time occupied by idle chats, idling, daydreaming, etc - of course we keep these to a minimum to not waste both our time). This is an extremely low introductory rate (could have been several times more).

You'll probably be paying RM600+ to RM1,000 or more if you go for courses outside where you'll be cramped with info within a few days, maybe walking out at the end of the day still blur, and probably have no support later.

I make things flexible so that you only learn things that you need, at your own pace at affordable rates (the longer the hours, the cheaper the rate).

I'm an accountant in a multinational corporation by profession. Playing with Excel is a daily routine. I'm good at the things that I do - be it hobbies or work. I do not want to delve too much into this here but suffice to say I'll do my best to help you. You can get references from above.

WHAT to expect:

The whole purpose of my service is to make your learning flexible and cost effective. You can pick a an unknown area you're interested to find out, and we can focus on that. Rates are always negotiable (the longer the hours, the cheaper the rate).

I won't be charging you if you're not satisfied (which is unlikely to happen). RM35 per effective hr on anything you want to know + out of pocket expenses - travelling etc (see below). Cash only. No charge if services is not satisfactory.

Style: 1 to 1 for maximum benefits (preferably you have a laptop), subject to my availability. You can bring more people - learning together with another interested friend/partner but the charge will per headcount. The lesser the more benefits to yourself. 1-to-1 is preferable since what you want to learn vs your friend may be different and we learn at different paces.

WHERE?

Location: You have a few choices:

- we can do it physically 1-to-1 in my room (or the hall) at my rented house in Bandar Utama, PJ; (recommended - lowest cost);

- we can do it physically 1-to-1 at your place (but you have to pay my travelling expenses (RM0.5 per KM to & fro) + toll + parking);

- OR if safety is your (or my) concern - we can do it at a convenient location of our choice (a public area like Starbucks/McD or a coffee shop with access to power and WIFI) but you have to pay for the food (your food - as it's not ethical to disrupt other's business by sitting without ordering) and my fuel for the distance travelled (RM0.5 per KM to & fro) + toll + parking to cover my expenses;

- Online (this is not advisable - it will waste your time as you need to read - which you might as well just buy a book or Google online. Our minds are not made for reading - see below)

If you want to get the most bang for your buck, I'd suggest meeting me personnally. Guiding/showing you things physically and explaining to you verbally by example is much more effective than you learning from reading or worse - wasting your time figuring out a problem. A picture paints a thousand words.

PS: If you really want a general guideline on what to learn, here's it:

Basics - the 20% most commonly used functions/formulas/tricks you'll be using in your 80% of your work (20%-80% rule). You can learn this yourself anyway - Most stuff are free online. I'd suggest you to not waste money learning basic stuff. But, if you insist (say if you have no clue at all), you can save lots of time if someone shows you. Time is money.

Intermediate - less commonly used but useful tricks that can make a difference in saving you hours of work and meeting your deadlines. These are things/problems more specific to your job. For example, in accounting, you're most probably going to do string manipulations and other more advanced matching/pivoting stuff. If you have some problems in an area of your job which you think can be done more efficiently, feel free to approach me.

Advanced - VBA/Macro automatino stuff (VBA is really old stuff - I don't use this nowadays, preferring to use a general programming language with great syntax and readibility like C# to do the automation). Most of the time you won't need to automate your Excel, unless you work in the finance/investment industry but even then there are already templates which you can modify. You mostly just need to understand the basic syntax and logic for tweaking. The most common automation task will be report generation.

Beyond - Creating custom add-ins/custom programs without using Excel as the intermediary to do the automation (much, much better performance); interactive dashboards which updates when data comes from an external source - the web, a database, text file, etc. Others...(there are always new things to discover - learning never stops)
