Does ZTE ZXDSL 931 work with TPLink TL-WR841N?

Appreciate any help on this. Was planning to buy the TPLink TL-WR841N to replace the stock Unifi Dlink DIR-615 due to wifi keeps hanging i.e. have to turn off and on wifi on my wireless device every so often to access the network. Also because the wifi signal strength of the DIR-615 is bad.

Was about to buy the TPLink last week but was told by the shop in Digital Mall that TPLink will not work with the ZTE modem. It only works with Huawei modem but they did not provide any further details. TM recently changed my Huawei modem to the ZTE ZXDSL931 modem due to VOIP issue i.e. caller cannot hear me. The shop suggested that I buy the ASUS RT-N13U instead which is said to work with the ZTE modem.

Would like to find out whether anyone has success using the TPLink with the ZTE modem? I am reluctant at the moment to go with the Asus setup due to double the cost and having the same wireless chip as the DIR-615. Also prefer the external antennae of the TPLink especially with 5dBi vs the Asus internal antennae. Can't see why a wireless router cannot work with any modem but thought I asked.

Thank you in advance.
