Is this a scam?

Hi everyone,

I started this topic because i need a help from all of you to verify this case either it was a well-planned scam or real deal. The story goes this way, i'm surfing www.mudah.my to find a second hand vehicle and i spot a very cheap Honda City 06 V-TEC for sell. It cost only RM22,800.00 with the tag URGENT to sell. That catch my attention as the current market price for this car was RM60,000 above (Sarawak). The photo published in mudah showing that car was awesomely nice condition and interior was all perfect. Then, i start to contact the seller via email because he didn't put his contact number. Then i send him a email as below :

Greetings,

I'm Ken from Sarawak and i saw your ad in mudah.my selling your vehicle. I'm interested to buy. Can we meet somewhere to view your car?

Then, he reply me with:

Hi ,

Regarding my car is currently available for sell.

Tip-Top condition, accident free and bank loan free.

I’m currently at my workplace –on an oil drilling rig, offshore Laos.I brought the car with me because i love it and i wanted to keep it.I did not thought that it would be so difficult to drive a right hand drive car here .

FYI I expect to come back to Malaysia only after 1 year.

I had prearranged the shipping from here to any Malaysian location ,anytime,I agreed to perform the mandate entrusted to me on all documents and forms by a shipping company so my presence in Malaysia isn’t necessary.

Total correct NET price : RM22,800.00 .Unfortunately, as you can see the car is state to be sold at a sacrifice price , needed for a personal problem that will require such an amount.I lowered the price because i couldn't find a buyer here, the main inconvenient is the fact that my vehicle has Malaysian specs different from Laos vehicles(In Laos the placement of the steering wheel is opposite to Malaysia)First who will show his seriousness, First served. An shipping agent will be there when you will receive the transport to help in case you will need .

All taxes will be covered by me for a smooth transaction (shipping, importing, government tax,JPJ,registration on your name etc.)

If you have serious intention for purchasing , let me know , to explain how to get it fast before the others potential customers .

Kind Regards

Then, i feel not right about it then i email him saying that my brother was the one interested and he may buy it by bank loan:

Good night sir, after discuss with my family, they are keen with that car. My brother will buy the car. If he would like to loan the car with the bank, any suggestion? Also how much the shipping fees will be?

And he reply me:

Hi,

Firstly, I'd like to apologize if my text seemed to long , but is very important as will make the buyer to have a clear understanding of the reading text .Please consider this to be an easy guide for purchase .

Once again you should know that my car is in perfect condition, it has no technical or mechanical problems, fully paid (no remain loan).

The best way how I imagine to finish this deal is to use the services of a professional company (International E-Service Company) which I already used before, when I bought a motorcycle from SG.They will handle the transport, payment and all the other necessary services, so the transaction can be safe and smoothly.

- Since for the next 10-12 months, I will be at my workplace –on an oil drilling rig,I left the car in the custody of the International E-Service delivery company at their warehouse here in Laos. The mechanics of the delivery company, along with the lawyers, inspected the vehicle and documents and everything was 100% in order.

- The car can be delivered to Malaysia in 5-6 working days. The delivery company handles all this kind of transaction across Southeast Asia all the time.

- Refund policy:Full Net Best price[RM22,800.00] no extra hidden cost from your side ,into one of the shipping company safe accounts,to secure your position in front of other customers, in order to purchase the car. They will release the money to me only after you accept the car and told them to do so.Shipping and related documents won't be forwarded until full payment has been received by ship company .

- They will deliver the car and they will also handle registration document transfer to your name. Once the car arrives to you, you will be able to test and verify the car for 7 days before deciding to keep the car or not.

If you decide to keep it, International E-Service Company representative will be with you and will help you to prepare the documents and to sign the contract of sale so you can be the new owner of the car. But if you decide not to keep the car, a car carrier will arrive to you in one week time and will pick up the car and will make a refund to you on the spot. (I don't think will be necessary, the car is perfect, you'll love it).

- So if you interested to start the transaction please send me your Complete Name,Delivery Address,Phone Number,Fax number , Copy of your IC and one copy of any utility bill, bank or insurance statement, etc. to make sure the shipping address corresponds with that name and address from identity card for a Clear & Smooth free shipping. They will prepare the delivery route, transaction invoice, a tracking number so you can verify the transport online.

I hope you are satisfied with my way of doing business. If you are going to accept my terms let me know so we should not waste our time.

Thank you for your time and have a nice day.

P.S.: For your reference my documents (IC photocopy, bank statements) attached for proper identification.

In that email, I wonder why he so rush to send me his IC and bank statements (his saving was around RM45,000). Then i send him this email:

Hi Sir,

May i request some photos of Honda City 1.5 V-TEC Black from you? Because im trying to show the picture to my brother but your advertisement in Mudah.my had disappear. Can sir send me the photo without car plate number censored (he want to know the plate number) and some interior of the car photos. I can assure sir that my brother is very interested and will buy it from sir. After i show him the photos, i will send u all the document you need for the transaction process. Thanks sir.

He reply me and send me few photos with the email below:

Hi there,

Pictures attached to this e-mail

Vehicle is not registered but all taxes have already been covered by my side (including shipping, import, government tax,JPJ Insurance and Road Tax,registration on your name,AP,road tax, inspection period fees etc.)

thanks and waiting for the confirmation of purchase asap

[attachmentid=2006353][attachmentid=2006356][attachmentid=2006357]

The problem was the photos he send me were different from the one he post in mudah.my earlier. And i ask him by email, he said that was the latest look of his car now. Also he mentioned that his car was unregistered but the earlier one i saw in mudah.my did have plate number but half censored (i still can see some number). I need opinion from all of forumers to help me with this case. Is this a well-planned scam or it was a too good too be true case? Thanks in advance and sorry for my poor language
