Need some serious advise on my current situation as below. I got a job offer and both company have pro and cons. I've been in Sales line in various industry for 10 years and I'm looking to move forward to my next chapter of my career. Therefore any inputs will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Retail Manager or General Manager?

Dear sifus,

Recently i got an offer from my client which he would like to startup a retail store something like TF Value-Mart but smaller scale inside a taman area.

I will be responsible in overall operation including HR, setting up the company policies and operations.

He is offering me Retail Manager, but i seems the scope to be more likely like a General Manager post.

Since its a local company and startup with a smaller scale.

He asked me what is my basic, allowance and profit sharing request.

It's my first position in the higher tier management hence I would like to seek some advice on the package i should be looking at.

Currently i open up the basic price at rm 4000 beside this what sort of allowance i should be looking at and the profit sharing as well.

I have the base experience to start up everything and its a challenge for me which i able to justified my skillset and learn alot the way as well.

Any inputs is greatly appreciated.

Need legal advice on property trespassing

Hi all,

I would like to know can i make a complaint or legal action against the property management for trespassing?

Here is the details in point form.

1) i stay in a taman where all are grounded single storey house.

2) behind my house there is an apartment and both my house and the apartment just tear apart by a brick wall about 120cm tall and two lane of car parks before the apartment.

3) the apartment have a security guard and my back door house is facing the apartment car park and apartment as well.

4) this morning around 7am there were a nepal or bangladeshi which i not sure enter my house through our back door and sleep at our kitchen area.

5) our back door didnt close all the time because we trust the security of the apartment wouldn't simply let people enter.

6) it gave our family a shock when we notice there were an unknown person sleeping in our kitchen area and we call the taman some sort like penghulu kampung and chase him out.

7) the reason the traspasser gave us was he was beaten by a group of people and he climb up the wall and came into my house for hiding.

8) we didnt call police, we just chase him out. my house was installed with CCTV so all the evidence was recorded. Again please take note that my backdoor wasn't lock and it was leave open.

9) i intended to lodge a police report for this issue to create awareness of this issue happen to me.

10) may i know can i proceed with legal action against the apartment management for their negligent in their duty and causing unknown people able to trespass to my property through the apartment porperty?

I'm taking this issue very serious as this time just unknown people come and hide.. who know in future buglar also can use the apartment weakness in security and trespass to rob us?

Any advice are highly appreciated.

Hi there,

I came across Speddwing website to which one of the program spark my interest: Professional Career Training

For eligibility wise, Speedwing confirmed my eligible status however they need my resume for proper job filter.

I have few question came in mind hence I would like to seek some advice from those who attended or came back from the program.

1) To my understanding, this PCT program should be working with an organisation firm in US as a contract worker instead of intership, please correct me if I get the info wrong.

2) Will the program help me get a better placement in career upon returning to Malaysia?

3) Currently I'm still an undergraduates with a full-time job on hand with Executive level. I'm looking forward if this program would able to catch a good spot upon returning or offered as a permanent in the firm to which I work with.

Hi all,

I'm origin from Penang and it's been close to 5 years for me applying Government house and yet till today I didn't even managed to get a property from Government. I knew 5 years is nothing some even waited for more than 10 years, due to the inconvenience of staying in in-law house due to my family growing bigger hence I was thinking to get some second property rather than keep on waiting for Government project.

Below are some of my details info:

Age: 29 (2015)
Basic Salary: RM 2,000 - I'm from Sales line hence my basic is low but if include commission and fixed allowance, average per month was RM 3,500 to 4,000.
Current Commitment: Car Instalment, RM 580 (2 years and 1 month paid, left 6 years and 11 months)
PTPTN Loan: Still on loan, completion by 2017 the loan before start repaying.
Family: Wife, not working - 3 kids (7 years old, 3 years old & 1 year old)
Bad Debts: I still owing my credit card debts at limit of (4,000) overdue + exceed card limit

Please let me know besides these details, what else I should furnish? And with my current condition is it possible for me to get a house? If yes what is the price range I should look for and lastly, will bank approve my loan?

Resignation Notice

Recently I just joined a new company on May 2014.

My offer letter stated that I need to serve 1 week notice upon resignation and 2 months notice upon confirmed employment.

My probation period was 4 months and the offer letter stated my probation period ended in August, meaning to say, if I got confirmed or extend probation should be effective on Sept onward.

However, the probation was dragged without any written form notice and my evaluation on started on September, there is where I sit down with my superior to go through my Personal Evaluation Form (PE)

After finish he said will discuss with his partner and let us know by further notice. However he did mention he will confirm my employment verbally and I already signed the Personal Evaluation form (PE)

So I didn't know I was really confirm until my admin told me that the boss already confirm me with certain of amount effective Oct (verbally)

So now if I want to resign, should I serve 1 week notice or 2 months notice due to following problem?

- My EPF only have 2 transaction for this company and last was dated on July 2014 with a not complete amount., The another transaction is a month earlier on June 2014. After July 2014 until now, I haven't received any EPF transaction from the company till to date.

- My last payslip received was on July 2014 as well, however my salary the company still bank in on time each end of month due to no payslip record, I don't know my last month salary was based on probation salary or confirmed salary. I still haven't verify my last pay was the new salary or my probation salary.

Added: No confirmation letter or extend probation letter was signed. All confirmation was told verbally

Added: Is it possible they don't deduct my EPF due to I got taken 1 or 2 days of unpaid leave for a month? Is there any legal law mention that employer can opt to not deduct employee EPF contribution and contribute to employee EPF account if there is 1 or 2 day unpaid leave occurred in a month?

So based on these problem, does I consider legally bind to the company as a permanent employee or I'm consider as a probation employee?

Please advise as I'm sick with this company management and the way they work, I don't want to have any legal matter so I'm seeking for HR expertise or any legal adviser to advise my problem.

Now I'm having problem to look for new job because I couldn't tell the company I need to serve 1 week or 2 month notice.

Please help

Cosmetic: All original but got 3 spot of small stone damage from highway driving and front bumper dented abit.

I'm currently developing an application for storing customer details and I would like to add a simple user group with crud access.

I would like to create two groups as below:

Admin - CRUD, Access all pages
User - CRU, Access certain page

I prefer to develop a simple, lightweight script, rather than using an open source framework and built.

I'm not sure is this the correct forum to ask for proofread, if I put it at a wrong section, Mods, please remove the post.

First of all,

I'm a PMR dropout with a devastated result, I knew I did wrong during my youth for giving up my study, so now I'm trying my very hard to track back my lost in education part.

Now I'm taking my part-time degree and hopefully I can change my life from nobody to somebody.

But the problem I'm facing, is my resume.

At Jobstreet, I just use a simplified Job description to tailor my working experience while my upload resume do have more specify and detail pertaining my working experience.

Together I attached with my resume at here.

I tried to keep my resume as simple as possible but when I apply job at Jobstreet, about 50 jobs I applied for past 3 month and only less than 5 call me for an interview session.

Can someone who always work with Jobstreet Employer portal advise what the problem with my resume?

Additional details:
- I don't apply MNC company as I know my education qualification doesn't meet their requirement.
- I only apply those job that relevant with my working experiences.

Hi all sifu and those who work as HR,

as per my topic, I was wondering in sales line is it education level is important? I may agree if you're in pharmaceutical, engineering or IT sales you may need candidate from relevant background to fill the position, but other than that I notice a lot of mnc or big organization sales position all require a degree or diploma at most.

there were once i receive a call from SG company for sales position, and speaking for 10 mins she just told me "oh, I'm sorry i just notice that you only got PMR and you're not suitable for this position as this position required min degree and above" I was like entering a moment of silence and reply to the HR "lucky I'm not suitable, you as a HR also can made a simple mistake like this and I doubt the whole organization efficiency" and I just hang up.

From my stand point, I believe sales line more emphasize on result rather than paper qualification, for instance does uni teach graduates people skill? this i could say you have to learn when you enter the sales line because as a sales person you're the meat in between the burger, you need to please and entertain your client for constantly returning order while you have to face your boss as well, sometimes it's quite pressure when you need to please both side.

so can someone enlighten me why big organization emphasize on paper academic? is it they prefer to spend money to those fresh grad rather than hire someone with a solid experience in sales line?

aside to that, please take note that I'm asking sales line and not marketing line as I understand marketing you may need at least diploma and you need to study the theory and etc.

by the way, I'm only a PMR leaver and currently I'm in exec level and this is the result i gain after I throw in a lot of hard work.
