Seek For Advise - NAS For Home Use

Hi All,

I'm looking for NAS mainly for home use. Purpose is to store my photos, videos and movies collection. Estimated need about 5-6 TB. Prefer the device with HDMI so I can direct connect to TV for display. Probably will setup this as private cloud system. Budget within RM 3k.

Hunting around in the market for few brands such as Asustor, Asus Lockerstor, QNAP, Orico, Synology ( least preference because no HDMI port ) but not sure which is better in term of cost effective, reliable and better perform.

Internet Network Design For Home

Hi,

My house is 3.5 floors. TM fiber will connect to ground floor and I plan to use 2nd floor as office which need faster Internet speed by using LAN cable connection.

My problem is TM fiber will only connect to ground floor and if to connect LAN cable to 2nd floor will be involved a lot of effort by need some hacking job. I see one potential solution is at my 2nd floor with telephone line connected from ground floor TM telephone connection. Can I design my network as follow or you have better suggestion ?

Fiber from TM > Modem (ground floor) > Router (ground floor)

Modem (ground floor) > Telephone line > Router (2nd floor) > CAT6 cable > Computer

Ask your opinion. Lately I saw one property whereby TNB power distribution room is behind the house and T-junction facing the side of the house. This unit is refer below highlighted in green. This is guarded and gated and about 140 units in total. The price is very attractive whereby is below 20% of the market value and environment is perfect. If for you, do you able to consider this house and why?

Plan to come with some web projects but considering the platform for this development. I'm new with Wordpress, understood it provides free, many ready templates, even without coding knowledge also can come with the project quickly.

The following is my questions.
1. Can I know the weakness if using Wordpress as the platform to come with web projects such as property posting system, travel booking system etc.

2. Probably Wordpress is good for those without programming knowledge and if today I know how to program using PHP from ground zero, should I choose Wordpress or develop start from zero by using PHP ?

Anyone experience with ACER ASPIRE R15 R5-571t model ? I saw this unit from Harvey Norman at RM3899. The spec wise quite impressive with i7 processor, 256 SSD, 15.6" IPS touch screen, 2-in-one convertible. Tried to search from Internet and not see much info about it.
