Is windows 8 worth the wait?

The topic says it all. Is windows8 worth the wait for a new laptop or one should just get what is best now? I'm afraid that after getting a new laptop, some of the laptop things cant function well with windows8 and can't fully utilise it.

external hard disc

I need to get a external hard disc but not sure of what brand or model to get.
Requirements:
1TB memory
Price as cheap as possible ( pls let me know bout the price )

is WD better or Toshiba cause i heard ppl say toshiba got shock prove or something like that

1stly i'm new here so hi to all.

2nd... i wan to find a laptop which is not very lousy. I'm going to use the laptop for some gaming ( dota , 14d, css ) and some assignments. budget is about RM3000. Can anyone intro me some brand and the price?

ps: i'm staying in penang and waiting for the pikom pc fair
