Are you a member of any society?

There are a number of various registered associations and societies in Malaysia ranging from business clubs to charitable organisations. Anyone here is a member of any registered society? Anybody know if there's any good association out there that we can join to build our network?

For now I am thinking of joining the Japan Foundation, they do a lot of artsy and creative stuff promoting Japanese culture.

hello everyone... me and few other friends are going off to Dhaka, Bangladesh next week for a debate competition.

However, we are very concerned of the recent outbreak of Influenza A. Does anyone know of any insurance company in Malaysia that provides travel insurance covering Influenza A ?

Thanks in advance.

Crazy Ex

Hello everyone. I need your kind view.

After nearly 5 years of long distance relationship, I finally decided to break up with my FIRST GF. I MET her recent raya and told her I want an end. I changed all my contacts (including all my social accounts) so that she can't reach me.

Reason is I just can't stand the obsessively jealous behaviour anymore. I still remember going to mamak and how she thinks I'm with a girl just because of some random girls chatting behind me. I simply don't have the time & resources to cater to such tantrums anymore. She's the kind of person that will call non-stop until you answer. Yes.

PROBLEM is she doesn't want to let me go. I foolishly switched phone and saved all my numbers in her phone during the "happier" days and trusted her (Yes, completely naive and stupid). She is NOW using the contacts against me by sending messages and calling all people I know at random to get to me.

To make it worse, she thinks I'm WITH my friend. I've ALWAYS insisted that she is only my friend but she never believes me. Because of this, my friend (a girl) is being constantly harassed daily. She thinks that she's "hiding" me away from her. Not only that, even my mother is harassed too and lied to her that I owe her money. My friend has since made a police report but my ex is still keeps on harassing her every day.

This is hugely embarassing and humiliating.

My friend told me to "man up" and do something. It does seem like I'm running away but I can't continue this paranoid life anymore. How do I stop this harassment and emotional blackmailing? Clearly I have failed miserably to clean up this mess alone.

I am going to start my career soon. I am not a SPM leaver anymore. I can't start my work if my friend keeps on scolding me every time they're being harassed. It makes me upset and stupid for not doing anything.

What should I do?

My mother wants to buy me a car

I hope this is the right place for me to ask this question. This has been a dilemma for me for quite sometimes.

I am 22 this year and I am a final year student.

My mother wants to buy me a car around 30-40K (saga fl, myvi, viva range).

I understand that most teenagers would cheer and love when their parents decided to get them a brand new car. I don't know about them but I just don't feel right about it. She said that she's getting the funds from ASB (maxxed out already) to buy the car cash.

She is currently driving a 10 years old Wira sedan 1.5. Her plan is to buy me a new car first and then wait for sometimes then get herself a new car as well. The Wira would be sold (for what? 10K max?) or perhaps passed to my sister.

Currently, I (think) I have three options.

1. Get the new car.
2. Don't get a new car. Instead, continue using my old mom's Wira. My concern is regarding the maintenance cost and FC (fuel consumption).
3. Continue using motorcycle as my main transport to go to classes. Well, I am already used using bike going around places but I will need a transport soon to start my chambering after I finish studying.

What would you suggest me if you were in my position?
how much water do you drink everyday?

QUOTE

Everyone knows the common advice on drinking water, right? That advice – the advice everyone knows – is drink six to eight glasses of water per day, which is about 1.5 to 2 liters. Unfortunately, not only is this advice unproven, it might just be both wrong and dangerous to one’s health.

Dr. Margaret McCartney, a doctor in Scotland, has described the common advice about drinking water in the British Medical Journal as “thoroughly debunked nonsense.” McCartney claims that this advice has never been proved and that several dangerous conditions can occur as the result of too much water intake including low sodium levels.

read the full article here: http://smartabouthealth.net/health/2011/07...n-be-dangerous/

My personal opinion:
This is absolute rubbish. It sounds as though Dr McCartney's comment has been taken completely out of context.

Drinking 10 litres of water a day can lead to problems - 8 glasses of water is not a lot of water. Healthy kidneys can cope with three times that! This sort of factually selective reporting makes me mad because some people will read this and take it as gospel!

what do you guys think? how much water do you guys drink everyday?

I'm a final year Law undergraduate studying in a local university. I am grateful that my university is offering allocation of funds to send its students for internships/attachment programme oversea in hope to increase exposures and gain new experiences in different environments.

I've been thinking of doing my internship in the ICC in the Hague or UN Organs (like WHO).

For now, I will just apply to all programmes that are available online and hopefully I get approved very soon.

Any ideas of organizations (relating to Law) that I may have missed ?

Dear All,

I am using ZTE MF600 (latest version with Maxis logo) with Starter package. I'm in sect8 Shah Alam.

Right now I'm connected with UMTS (3G band) with acceptable speed... However, when I'm in HSDPA (3.5G which supposed to be better and faster) the speed is OK but it's not stable anymore..

Does anyone here know of any settings for me to "config" this thing so that it can only get connected to UMTS not HSDPA?

Thanks!

#edit-1

Does anyone here have ideas on ideal ways to place this modem? near window?

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah

Hello everyone.

I am currently a lower six student and taking PA+MUET+PP+SEJ.

I want to do Law in the future after finishing STPM.

But right now I am in questions whether to choose between of this both subjects. Which is much more better, in terms of helping me to get the course (law) in the future.

Main reason I took PP at first because I have interests in Business and thinking that Pengajian "Perniagaan" will have something to do with Business.

argh.. Ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance.

p/s wah lao buku form6 gila 1337!

matric or form6 for law?

Asalamualaikum warahmatullah

Hello everyone.

I am a SPM leaver of 2006 batch and currently now waiting for appeal for UPU courses (I didn\'t get any offer). FYI, I got 5A 3B 2C (Physics (C5), Biology (C6), Addmaths (B3), Chemistry (B4), EST (B3) and for other core subjects I only get A1 for Bahasa and A2 for others.)

I was offered for two years matriculation programme a few weeks before. And because of that the Malaysian education system automatically declined for Form6 entry.

I really want to do foundation courses of Law (which listed on the UPU courses) but didn\'t get the offer.

Right now. What should I do while waiting for the appeal process (If I were to be declined by the cruel system?).

Should I take matriculation or going to form6?

I really have the interests and willing to do anything in order to become a successful lawyer.

If you have any other questions regarding to help me, please ask and I'll be gladly to tell and hoping that you can give the best opinions in helping with my problems.

bro azarimy? anyone?

Thanks in advance.
Izwan
