Streamyx and UniFi Routers

Want to clear my doubts on this matter..

Previously, my home was using Streamyx 1MB until UniFi came in.

So during the time when we used Streamyx, we had a ADSL Modem Router all-in-one (provided by Streamyx themselves upon signing up to this plan)

And now, when we use UniFi, we are given another router (this time the D-Link is the router only, not two in one modem router)

My question now is, with the escalating usage of optic fibre line, is the previous modem router all-in-one now being rendered obsolete? Will the future trend continue to be using router only (not two-in-one)?

Nas problem

Hi guys, not sure if this is the right place to ask, but here goes..

After the recent software update about a week ago, suddenly the drive when i connect to LAN on PC, cannot detect the shares. Prior to the update, it was working fine.

I usually connect through "run, \\ip_address\Public" and having no problems with that. Recent update causes the above method to be invalid, i can see the drive in the map network but i could not map the drive.

Firewall is out of the question, same goes for antivirus as they are always turned off. Tried this on two pc buy still cant enter.

Anyone who had the same experience, please give your opinions on this. Western digital customer service does not help much though

Forgot to mention that the error appears "device (nas) is not configured to accept connection SMB"

Hi guys, having a dilemma here...

Need help to decide on an Institute to study for Degree in Accounting or Accounting & Finance (full time)

I am currently studying in Nilai University College.

As you can see, I did not include Taylors University, Sunway University College, Monash or Nottingham as they are too expensive..

i had other preferences as well:

i) institute must be near KL or PJ (because i want study near my home in KL), basically anywhere which is accessible to public transport (lrt or ktm preferably) I get homesick easily, currently staying in hostel
ii) the degree cert is awarded by an overseas University (not by the local institute itself)
iii) the degree have maximum 9 papers ACCA exemption
iv) my budget of the degree cost does not exceed RM60k
v) I do not mind it takes up to 3 or 4 years to complete
vi) can enter MIA (if cant also nevermind, as long as can get ACCA is good enough)
vii) also last but not least, and most important, is the need of good study environment itself

Any suggestions please? I have to decide by end of this week because my finals are next week, and I need to withdraw from the institute already (Why? Refer to my first preference). Thinking about the decision gives me headache and cant sleep well

Will appreciate any suggestions, comments, and help.. Thanks

WiFi router

Let's say if i have an N router at home (using streamyx of course) and if one device with N connects to it, then another device with G connects the router, the router speed will automatically drop to G standard am i right? While dropping to G, will it disconnect the N device?

Another words, device N is downloading from the internet, then G device connects and will the N device disconnect?

guys, my wow patch when i use manuel update from 3.3.0a to 3.3.2 it cant update..

it has error saying something like 'World of Warcraft\list.txt cannot be copied'...

any1 have idea why?
